Provides information and assistance to Veterans, family members, and active military personnel in obtaining records, benefits, and entitlements from the Department of Veteran's Affairs.

Provides representation to veterans and their families who are seeking benefits from the Department of Veteran Affairs or upgrading a military discharge through the various military branches.

Offers assistance to veterans in applying for federal or state benefits such as disability compensation, non service-connected pension, education and NY state blind annuity.

Offers assistance enrolling in VA health care programs and transitioning from military to civilian life as well as accessing additional community resources. Also provides assistance with other veterans benefits including education benefits, disability compensation, home loans, and employment assistance.

Provides individual and group readjustment counseling,(specific for war trauma) marital and family counseling, alcohol and drug counseling, bereavement counseling for family members of those killed or injured in the global war on terrorism, and support groups for spouse and significant others. Also provides sexual harassment counseling, intimidation, assault or rape while on active duty regardless of where they served. Provides benefits assistance and referral, job referral and community education. Gives referrals to community agencies, and acts as liasion with Veteran's Administration facilities.

Provide free, peer assistance to veterans and their families in obtaining benefits and services earned through military service that is provided by the VA and other agencies of government, and to provide outreach concerning our program services to our community and to veterans and their families specifically.

Provides assistance with disability rights, VA benefits, discharge upgrades, housing, child support (restrictions), domestic violence (restrictions), and entitlements.

Membership is restricted to the combat wounded, but MOPH provides support to all veterans and their dependents throughout the United States. They help to create jobs, offer scholarships, and maintain continuous liaison with Congress on issues related to veterans. Meetings held 3rd Thursday of month at 8pm.

Provides a full range of entitlement counseling, including Medicare, Medicaid, Veterans Benefits, tax abatement, educational lectures, and on-going care givers support groups. Program also includes a referral service for home care assistance and non-emergency medical transportation. A food pantry is available to those who are eligible on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Administers a variety of benefits and services that provide financial and other forms of assistance to Veterans, their dependents, and survivors. Major benefits include Veterans' compensation, Veterans' pension, Survivors' benefits, rehabilitation and employment assistance, education assistance, home loan guaranties, and life insurance coverage.

Supports the VA's effort to prevent at-risk veterans from becoming homeless and rapidly rehousing those who have fallen into homelessness. Promotes housing stability and helps connect veterans and their family members to VA services and other benefits. Offers additional services such as case management, housing counseling, fiduciary and payee services, access or referrals to mental health care, child care services, legal services, personal financial planning services, and temporary financial assistance to those who qualify. Program in partnership with Services for the Underserved. Services available in Spanish.

Offers services to help veterans learn about your options for buying, renting or finding emergency housing, and using your military benefits to assist you in the most appropriate way for your and your family’s needs. Veterans Benefits Counselor on staff to assist veterans and their families file claims for veterans' benefits. In addition, offers veterans generous discounts at most town park facilities and on recreational programs; a real property tax exemption program and offers free pet adoptions for veterans who wish to adopt a companion from the town's Animal Shelter. Offers benefit information regarding but not limited to Filing Claims for Benefits from Federal & State Agencies; Filing DD-214, discharge papers & separation papers; Assist Veteran Service Organizations; Assist with Appeals; Community Affairs-Memorial Services, Dedications, Ceremonies, etc.; Referrals to other County, State & Federal Agencies and In Home visits to assist the housebound with claims. Information for eligible veterans, widows and dependents for a variety of benefit programs relating to issues such as health, education, financial assistance and disability-related issues.
