NON-RESIDENTIAL PROGRAM | BRIGHTER TOMORROWS

Provides counseling, support groups, parenting groups and referrals to victims of domestic violence, human trafficking, and victims of domestic violence who are incarcerated. Offers transportation and bilingual court advocacy to help victims access legal options. Special group counseling services for children who are victims/witnesses of domestic violence.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND ELDER ABUSE BUREAU | SUFFOLK COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT HEADQUARTERS

Investigating all reported domestic incidents and providing assistance to victims of Domestic Violence. The Domestic Violence/Elder Abuse Bureau of the Suffolk County Police Department conducts confidential investigations involving domestic violence and elder abuse, and acts as a liaison to the courts, outside agencies and governmental entities. The Domestic Violence/Elder Abuse Bureau also provides outreach to victims of domestic violence and raises community awareness through education regarding family violence issues. CIVIC ENGAGEMENT AND LEADERSHIP TRAININGS | SEPA MUJER

Provides free legal services and referrals to Latina women in abusive relationships. Also offers a workshop, the first for Latina women, Talleres de Liderazgo, that is a free five-week course, taught in Spanish only, on leadership and basic legal rights training. Domestic Violence Unit - OCDSS

Provides non-residential services to victims of Domestic Violence. Services include safety planning, basic counseling, case management, hospital accompaniment, domestic violence awareness/education, temporary assistance waivers/housing assistance, transportation, and referrals for immigrant/immigration services, safe dwelling/shelter, legal assistance, and other relevant supportive services. Also provides court advocacy including help with preparation and filing of Family Court documents such as orders of protection and custody, and will accompany victims to court upon request. All services continue to be available after hours via the Orleans County Sheriff's Dispatch.
