Provides assistance for individuals and families with rent difficulties, including one-time back rent assistance, landlord-tenant mediation, section 8 applications, and relocation assistance, including referrals to other needed services.

A certified Hud-housing agency that provides tenant assistance, eviction prevention, home ownership counseling, landlord-tenant mediation, foreclosure counseling, first time home buyer counseling, reverse mortgage counseling, and housing court assistance. A loan/grant program is in place to assist with home improvement, weatherization and applications for funding for other housing-related services.

Provides assistance to working individuals and families to prevent eviction or foreclosure as well as assistance for homeless individuals and families to obtain permanent housing after all other community resources have been utilized.

ITU is a union by and for the tenants of Ithaca, to protect tenant rights and advance tenant collective power. It offers help with tenancy issues and has a helpline where volunteer tenants with experience can offer solidarity and limited support. It also advocates for public policy that protects tenants.Winter 2025/2026- Community Mutual Aid and Warming Center, every evening 5pm-9pm at the First Baptist Church, 309 North Cayuga Street. Hot tea and warm place to hang out. Supplies available may include hand warmers, socks, non perishable snacks, blankets, gloves, bandaids, etc. Visitors may also request items as needed.

The Hudson Valley Justice Center offers direct representation and advice to low income residents of the Hudson Valley. Provides free civil legal services for individuals who are HIV positive or who have an HIV positive family member, including but not limited to: end of life planning, care and custody planning, child support, custody, visitation, family offenses, divorce, discrimination, bankruptcy, housing problems, and name change.
