Provides a service, in collaboration with 2 other agencies (My Sisters' Place and Westchester Hispanic Coalition) to offer free legal services for poverty level residents or those who are victims of domestic violence for consumer disputes, housing, education, benefits, domestic violence, orders of protection, custody, child support, family law, including citizenship applications, work authorizations or other immigration issues.

Provides a service, in collaboration with 2 other agencies (My Sisters' Place and Westchester Hispanic Coalition) to offer free legal services for poverty level residents or those who are victims of domestic violence for consumer disputes, housing, education, benefits, domestic violence, orders of protection, custody, child support, family law, including citizenship applications, work authorizations or other immigration issues.

* Provides home owner services to first time homebuyers as well as current homeowners. Tenant Education, including information on tenant rights and resources. Guidance for senior homeowners, including counseling on Home Equity Conversion Mortgages. Foreclosure prevention. Homeowner repair grants information (Housing council doesn't provide grants but can help in finding information).* Offers landlord services such as courses to help better manage their properties and Paint lead safety, provides free and low cost publications and forms to help them manage relationships with tenants.* Schedules inspections for Landlords accepting LTSA's (Landlord Tenant Security Agreement). * Offers information and referral hotline for homeownership and rental related questions.* Provides a rental registry with available housing units for rent. The list is updated every Tuesday and Thursday and is available on the website. The registry cannot be mailed.* Member of the Healthy Homes Partnership.* Additional information on current programs available on agency website. Does not provide financial assistance for rent or security deposit.

Prosecutes businesses and individuals engaged in fraudulent, misleading, deceptive or illegal trade practices.

* Provides guidance on completing eviction paperwork or blank eviction packets.

Provides on-site emergency food pantry for residents of specific streets in the City of North Tonawanda (call for details) and information on meal planning and budgeting. Provides rent, mortgage, and utility payment assistance to low income individuals and families when funds are available; funds are currently unavailable. Fair Housing Advocacy Program assists individuals who feel they are victims of discrimination when purchasing or renting a home. Offers information, assessment, and referral to the appropriate federal, state, or local human rights agency or court. Provides housing location services and landlord/tenant advocacy. Individual advocacy, information and referral, application assistance, asset management, and budget counseling are also available.
