Represents clients in personal bankruptcy proceedings in federal court and counsel debtors on available alternatives to bankruptcy. Representation is provided by upper-level law students, working under the close supervision of experienced lawyers who are clinical professors. There is no charge for clinic representation. YOUTH ADVOCACY CLINIC | MAURICE A. DEANE SCHOOL OF LAW AT HOFSTRA UNIVERSITY 

Provides representation to youths in special immigrant juvenile matters and child maltreatment cases. The clinic advocates in the Queens, Nassau and Suffolk family courts, as well as before immigration court judges and hearing officers in Manhattan, on behalf of youth in cases where the allegations range from physical and sexual abuse to educational neglect, abandonment and inadequate supervision. In addition, the clinic often represents their clients on related issues, such as delinquency, custody and school suspension matters. DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ADVOCACY PROGRAM | MECHANICVILLE AREA COMMUNITY SERVICES CENTER (MACSC)

Provides non-residential programming to victims of domestic violence and their children. Supports for victims include legal advocacy, a domestic violence hotline, safety planning, legal clinics, counseling, emergency cell phones, support groups, children's counseling and support groups, court accompaniment, resource advocacy, and direct access to emergency assistance. Transportation is provided to victims of domestic violence and their children as well as educational presentations, trainings and workshops for schools, and community groups.
