Offers a 30-credit program which prepares graduates for the positions of assistant, associate or deputy superintendent for business. Course work includes 24 core credits in educational administration and a 400-hour, hands-on internship in a school business office, enabling students to hone their business acumen. Courses explore public school finance, the school budget process and school district administration. Students without teaching experience may qualify for New York state certification as a School District Business Leader. Candidates for this program must possess a master’s degree and have an appropriate career background and aspirations. A free public Middle School serving students in grades 6 through 8 living within the district boundaries.
Offers adults who are 60 years of age or older the change to audit most New York State-funded, credit-bearing courses offered at Stony Brook during the Fall and Spring terms, on a space available basis and subject to permission of instructor. A list of eligible courses will be made available on the day of Senior Auditing registration. Classes that are not available for auditing include: foreign language and English literature courses, including programs at Southampton; graduate courses; laboratory courses, studio art courses, online courses, physical education courses, and instrumental music courses; Health Sciences Center courses; courses offered in self-supporting non-credit programs sponsored by the School of Professional Development, Crafts Center, Museum of Long Island Natural Sciences, and Division of Physical Education and Athletics, among others. Please note that Senior Auditors are not eligible to obtain campus email accounts or use online library services. There is a $50.00 registration fee (per course). Call for registration times.

Offers Lacrosse Camp for ages 6-14 which offers boys and girls (separate programs) an intensive week-long program to become better lacrosse players under the direction of some of the area’s finest coaches. Each day of the week is meticulously and specifically planned out to promote self-improvement in all facets of the game, including game strategy and field awareness. The campers will have an opportunity each day to put their newly acquired skills and knowledge to the test in competitions, and game play. Invites Nassau County senior citizens to participate in the Senior Observer Program. This program permits Nassau County residents 60 years of age and older to observe credit-bearing courses, tuition free, on a space-available basis. Certain courses at the College are not available through the Senior Observer Program. Although senior observers are not graded or given academic credit, they must meet course prerequisites. While the program provides senior citizens the opportunity to observe a course, the actual extent and level of participation is at the discretion of the instructor. Offers field hockey camp for girls entering grades 2–12. Coaches will encourage player skill development and campers will receive instruction and the opportunity to practice in competitive games and drills. Learn with the enthusiasm and expertise of experienced Division 1 college coaches and players on state of the art facilities. Each camper should wear daily: cotton T-shirt, athletic shorts, and, field hockey stick, mouth-guard, and sneakers. Campers must also bring a water bottle. A comprehensive child development Head Start/Preschool program designed to serve income eligible children 0-5 years of age including children with disabilities and their families. Early Head Start: provides early, continuous, intensive, and comprehensive child development and family support services to low-income infants and toddlers and their families, and pregnant women and their families. Provides early learning, care and enrichment experiences to children in an early care and education setting. Staff members also visit family homes at least twice per year.
Focuses on creating asset development opportunities for both residents and entrepreneurs. Assists individuals in growing and investing in their communities by providing lending capital, training, consulting, technical assistance, seminars, workshops, and low-cost business rental space to new and existing businesses that would otherwise lack access to these services. Assists area residents in developing asset based thinking by providing financial literacy training, basic budgeting, and home appliance loans to combat predatory lenders. Loan programs and Cottage Industry Assistance Program target low to moderate income existing and prospective individuals. Chautauqua Microenterprise Loan Fund and the Women and Minority Microenterprise Loan Fund Programs help small businesses by providing small business start up and expansion loans. The small business incubator offers small businesses an opportunity to grow and stabilize with subsidies around rent, business services, and technical assistance. Program site serves as a Warming Center during times of excessive cold and as a Cooling Center during times of excessive heat. Always call ahead to make sure a Warming/Cooling Center is open before going there.
