AUTOMOTIVE BUSINESS CERTIFICATE | AMMERMAN CAMPUS

Offers a one-year program designed to prepare the student for non technician careers in the automotive industry. This program prepares the student for positions in automotive sales, leasing, finance, marketing, parts, service, management and customer service. The courses of study cover business, management and marketing courses as needed to become a well-rounded graduate prepared for the automotive business sector. This program is designed for a student with automotive experience and/or prior automotive education with the goal of enriching their automotive career path and improving job outlook. All students applying to the Automotive Business certificate program will be required to attend a mandatory automotive program information session. This program is offered both part-time and full-time and admission is competitive. Students in the Automotive Business Certificate program will be required to have a valid driver’s license; violations resulting in points on a driver’s license abstract may impact a student’s ability to complete program cooperative course requirements. Offers a rigorous boot camp-style certificate program which transforms learners with no programming background into web developers and front-end developers who can build omnichannel, consumer-facing, rich front-end single-page applications (SPAs) using cutting-edge web technologies such as Core Java, HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, JavaScript, Mocha, Chai and Angular. Boot camp courses are taught 100 percent virtually through our proprietary learning management system with a combination of asynchronous and synchronous sessions via Zoom. Offers field hockey camp for girls entering grades 2–12. Coaches will encourage player skill development and campers will receive instruction and the opportunity to practice in competitive games and drills. Learn with the enthusiasm and expertise of experienced Division 1 college coaches and players on state of the art facilities. Each camper should wear daily: cotton T-shirt, athletic shorts, and, field hockey stick, mouth-guard, and sneakers. Campers must also bring a water bottle. EASTERN SUFFOLK BOCES ALTERNATIVE PROGRAM AT PAL-O-MINE | EASTERN SUFFOLK BOCES ALTERNATIVE PROGRAM AT PAL-O-MINE

Designed for students, ages 16 - 21, who are assigned to the center as a recommended court placement or for at-risk students whose needs are not being met in their current school setting. The program is designed to prepare students to complete the requirements for a Regents, Local, or High School Equivalency Diploma. Courses of study will also infuse contextualized learning, career preparation, and skills achievement into daily lessons. The program model utilizes a non-traditional learning environment to enhance academic performance and offers students real-world, hands-on application of skills through a collaborative work experience opportunity at Pal-O-Mine’s Equestrian, Inc. The program also encompasses individual and group counseling, substance abuse counseling, employment and soft skills training. Each participant’s treatment plan is individualized to address his or her needs, strengths and challenges. This program will provide a seamless continuum of transitional services to students. Each student will meet with a counselor to establish an individualized transition plan. The transition plan will focus on meeting educational, employment and transportation needs in addition to connecting students with community-based organizations and resources. Eastern Suffolk BOCES has developed partnerships with federal, state, and local agencies to create links to resources that provide support to at-risk students.

Offers this 1200-hour program for you to prepare to take the National Certifying Examination as a Surgical Technologist. A Surgical Technologist works closely with the surgeon, anesthesiologist and registered nurse to set up and assist in all type of surgical procedures. You will learn how to perform many duties that help keep the operating room functioning safely before, during and after operations. Practice the skillful handling and passing of surgical instruments and supplies, sterilizing operating room equipment and maintaining inventory in BOCES’ simulated Operating Room. BOCES’ program offers a low student-to-teacher ratio for highly personalized instruction. Students are assigned to a clinical site at one of Long Island’s excellent health care facilities and spend 590 hours working under the guidance of an experienced health care professional. Offers a 160-hour program composed of a sequence of noncredit courses that leads to a clear level of competence in American Sign Language. The certificate is awarded to students who successfully complete all required courses plus eight (8) workshops of the student’s choice. The courses and workshops in this program are continually updated and rotated in the summer, spring and fall. Affiliated instructors are members of both the hearing and deaf communities.
