Offers a comprehensive course of study designed to provide students with the depth of knowledge and skills needed to take the NYS TASC (Test Assessing Secondary Completion). Instructional areas include ELA reading, ELA writing, social studies, science, and mathematics. Students also develop essential critical thinking and problem solving skills.

Provides free public access computing services specifically designed for individuals from vulnerable populations, such as the unemployed, individuals with disabilities, seniors, those struggling with language barriers, etc. Services include, computer Basics (in English and in Spanish and possibly other languages.), learning in-depth Microsoft Office software, writing resumes and cover letters, practicing interview skills, test-taking such as Learning Express, GED preparation, job readiness sessions with a trained coach/advisor, assistance with completing e-forms for food stamps, other benefits, on-line job applications, immigration papers, etc, and help with navigating the internet for social service agencies and benefit opportunities.

Provides help to individuals in various ways to attain employment. Offers guidance in getting a GED, get vocational training, benefits assistance, filling out applications, resume writing and practice job interviewing skills.

Provides literacy and high school equivalency preparation programs. Students are able to attend classes or enroll in a home study program. Job skills training opportunities are also available.

Provides outreach and admissions counseling to help youth (ages 16-24) enroll in a federal JOB CORPS program where they will receive assistance in completing their education and obtain training in various trades, on a residential campus-type setting. Call for more information.

Provides vocational/educational needs assessment, employment counseling, testing/assessment, referrals to community training/educational resources, liaison to community agencies, resume training, interviewing skills, coordination with other professionals at agency and outside of agency regarding client care, GED preparation, academic tutoring and mentoring, anger management, conflict resolution and workshop series.

Following initial assessment, person may attend one or more group workshops dealing with employment transition; job-search tools; career assessment; goal-setting; resume/letter writing; interview techniques; networking; retraining; and on-the-job training. Provides tuition-free academic and vocational training, college preparation, and workforce preparation programs and services to adults who meet income and education eligibility guidelines, to help them obtain the skills and credentials they need to pursue higher education and/or secure career-oriented employment. Improves the area’s workforce by enhancing the academic preparedness, vocational-skill competency levels and work-readiness skills of adult learners.

Offers High School Equivalency (HSE) Preparation and General Educational Development (GED) courses. Preparatory classes are available to students who are 17 years of age and older. Courses enable students to prepare for the GED, earn a high school equivalency diploma, improve educational skill levels and increase employment opportunities. The instruction and classes are specially designed and customized for the student’s skill level. Students work at their own pace with instruction in an individual or small group setting. Three-hour classes, which meet twice a week, offer instruction in subjects that include; social studies, reading, English, math, and science. Call for detailed information and course offerings.
