Provides industry-aligned career training and experiences empowering adults by assisting them with acquiring the employable skills necessary to assimilate into the 21st-century workforce. Our students benefit from industrial connections, on-site technical training, and job related certifications in order to become more knowledgeable, and successful employees. Our English as a Second Language (ESL) courses are for students whose native language is not English and want to improve speaking, reading and writing skills. Our High School Equivalency program prepares students to earn a New York State Equivalency Diploma by successfully completing the New York State Testing Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC®) exam. Instruction is based on the content of the test, which includes Math, Reading, Writing, Social Studies and Science. GRASP | WESTERN SUFFOLK BOCES WILSON TECH DIX HILLS CAMPUS

Offers a program for adults age 21 and over. The GRASP home-study program prepares students for the GED high school equivalency exam OR for entry into the EDP high school equivalency program. Personalized instruction is included with all home study materials. Teacher support is available by phone or through virtual and remote platforms. Complete assignments at your own pace. Seeks to strengthen English language skills for women 21 and older who speak languages other than English, build confidence in performing daily tasks, develop a cultural understanding among those who represent various nationalities, languages, and religions, assess and improve performances in math, reading, and writing skills, and assist participants in acquiring a GED in English and Spanish. YOUTH BUILD | FAMILY SERVICE LEAGUE HEADQUARTERS AND OLSTEN FAMILY CENTER

Offers Suffolk county residents, ages 18-24, educational support to obtain their TASC diploma and learn job skills. Provides vocational training in a variety of fields including the building trades (weatherization, green construction), medical billing and coding, hospitality, home health aide, early child care and manufacturing. Offers job interview skills workshops, resume writing, job placement and continued career counseling for program graduates. Offers a stipend for good performance to participants.

Adult & Community Education - KenTon Union Free School District

In addition to helping adult students prepare for the TASC exam and earn their High School Equivalency Diploma, the Adult and Community Education Department offers Adult Basic Education classes for students to improve their reading, writing, and math skills. Students work at their own pace with the help of a certified teacher. Career Counseling and Case Management is available to all students and classes are open to individuals 17 years of age or older regardless of residency. English as an Alternate Language and Citizenship programming are also offered at the main building and at an addendum site in the morning and evening.

Pick up available for donations of large household items and furniture. Employment services include resume and job search assistance, job skills training, and on-the-job work experience. Also offers free access to computers and internet for job searching activities. Educational services include high school equivalency preparation credit recovery.
