Assists youth and adults to succeed in the workforce by encouraging self-sufficiency, familiarizing them with the world of work, facilitating the creation of job opportunities, and providing services related to these activities. Vocational rehabilitation provides HSED (formerly GED), career readiness workshops, vocational and classroom training, construction technology program, and work experience services for members of the Seneca Nation of Indians and other federally recognized Nations residing 20 miles of all Seneca Nation territories who have a documented disability. Tribal 477 provides HSED (formerly GED), training, career readiness workshops, vocational and classroom training, construction technology program, and work experience services for members of the Seneca Nation of Indians and other federally recognized Nations (and children of an enrolled Seneca father) residing 25 miles of the Cattaraugus, Allegany and Oil Springs territories.

Provides a wide range of employment and training services for individuals, including computer lab access, resume and cover letter preparation, job referrals, paid work experience, tuition assistance, and GED classes.

Provides a high school diploma program for pregnant and parenting teens throughout Nassau County in a small, structured, nurturing environment. Classes are one to one and in small groups and require some level of motivation on the part of the student. Support services are provided including case management services and advocacy. Services are provided at no cost to the home district or to the parents.

In addition to helping adult students prepare for the TASC exam and earn their High School Equivalency Diploma, the Adult and Community Education Department offers Adult Basic Education classes for students to improve their reading, writing, and math skills. Students work at their own pace with the help of a certified teacher. Career Counseling and Case Management is available to all students and classes are open to individuals 17 years of age or older regardless of residency. English as an Alternate Language and Citizenship programming are also offered at the main building and at an addendum site in the morning and evening.

Offers residents, ages 21 and over, the literacy skills needed to successfully negotiate positive outcomes for themselves and their children. Designed to meet the post-secondary education as well as the employment needs of Hempstead residents, the Adult and Community Education Program offers traditional literacy classes (ESOL, GED, ABE, Citizenship), information and support services at various sites located throughout the community. Educational case management, individual and group counseling are also offered to meet the needs of students. Referrals to other community sites operating during the day and evenings are made based on need and availability. In addition The Adult Education Program also offers Academic Intervention Services, designed to provide quality educational tutoring in a safe, positive, and nurturing environment for children between the ages of 5-14 whose parents are actively enrolled and attending the Hempstead Adult and Community Education Program. Offers Suffolk county residents, ages 18-24, educational support to obtain their TASC diploma and learn job skills. Provides vocational training in a variety of fields including the building trades (weatherization, green construction), medical billing and coding, hospitality, home health aide, early child care and manufacturing. Offers job interview skills workshops, resume writing, job placement and continued career counseling for program graduates. Offers a stipend for good performance to participants.

Offer courses for those interested in completing a high school diploma, we offer a wide selection of classes. Provides Youth Development Programs, educational programs, recreational activities, individual and family counseling, groupwork, youth advocacy, information and referral and crisis intervention. Also receives in-house support services through the Huntington Youth Bureau which includes substance abuse counseling, emergency short-term housing for homeless youth and their families, GED preparation, vocational counseling, job placement, and a crisis hotline. Delivers comprehensive youth employment, training, and placement services to in-school and out-of-school disadvantaged youth through a career program. Can help with obtaining driver license, interview clothing or work clothing.
