Adult & Community Education - KenTon Union Free School District

In addition to helping adult students prepare for the TASC exam and earn their High School Equivalency Diploma, the Adult and Community Education Department offers Adult Basic Education classes for students to improve their reading, writing, and math skills. Students work at their own pace with the help of a certified teacher. Career Counseling and Case Management is available to all students and classes are open to individuals 17 years of age or older regardless of residency. English as an Alternate Language and Citizenship programming are also offered at the main building and at an addendum site in the morning and evening.

ENERGY Program - WEDI

Provides after-school academic assistance designed to meet the specific needs of elementary school students from refugee families, with an emphasis on reading, writing, and speaking English. Offers one-on-one homework help and tutoring in reading and math, along with educational and recreational activities, field trips, and opportunities to socialize with friends. A project-based learning curriculum provides a structured atmosphere, allowing for positive enforcement of pro-social behaviors. Book clubs work at each student's ability level to increase their comfort with and love of reading. Also offers a 6-week summer program.
