Offers an academic program for youth in 5th through 9th grades, which focuses on the three basic challenges faced by these students with language-based learning disabilities, acquiring skills so they can reach their academic potential, developing self-confidence in their own ability to achieve success, and understanding their learning differences so they can become effective advocates for themselves.

Provides a residential and day school, including health and rehabilitation services for children and young adults with Cerebral Palsy, Traumatic Brain Injury, Autism, PDD, down syndrome, senfilippo (Pervasive Developmental Disabilities), orthopedic or neurological impairments, or with other developmental and physical disabilities.

Provides cooperative learning and individual instruction to meet the needs of students who are at risk of not succeeding in a regular school setting.

Provides 24 hour educational, residential and recreational services to moderate/severe/profound developmentally disabled and autistic children ages 5 to 21 years of age. Core programs include 12 month special education program, evening, weekend and holiday recreational programs. Specialty programs include: assistive technology therapeutic massage treatment of dysphagia and feeding disorders transitional services and music, art, and pet therapy. Clinical services include physical, speech, occupational and nutritional therapies, nursing and medical care, physical services, augmentative communications, and specialized child care. Also provides positive behavioral support strategies, and psychological, psychiatric and social services. Walk-in or call.

School for children with emotional and behavioral problems.

Provides a full day, 12 month academic and behavioral treatment program for children with autism and atypical developmental disorders ranging in age from 5-21 years. Parent education also provided in school, home, and community setting.

Center based school program providing: evaluations, individualized education, related services, family education, pre-vocational training, individual and group counseling, and play therapy. Related services include: physical, occupational and speech therapies, vision training, nursing, and assistive technology. Adapted physical evaluation, creative arts, and MOVE philosophy (Mobility Opportunities Via Education) are also available. Program offers an educational/therapeutic curriculum that provides individualized attention and intervention while facilitating communication skills, cognitive development and emphasizing individual abilities. UPC Suffolk's Children's Residential Program provides both educational and residential placement using a collaborative team approach.

Provides a special education through services and programs specifically designed for children and adolescents with multiple disabilities. Specific services that are provided include speech, occupational, physical, psychological, and behavioral therapies as well as training many students in the Vocational Program.

Provides females (age 12-18, 7th-12th grade) a residence which offers education, psychiatry, full medical and dental, substance abuse counseling, individual and group counseling, and adventure based programs. The Day School offers education, counseling (group and individual), and adventure based programs.

Provides a NYSED approved article 81 residential school for youth ages 5-21 years old. Includes a 12 month program with a 6:1:3 ratio as well as speech, occupational therapy, physical therapy and counseling. New York State certified special education school that was created to accommodate the needs of the children and adolescents with developmental disabilities who reside at The Robert J. McMahon Children’s Center in Nassau County, Long Island. Small class sizes and student-centered instruction tailor each student’s education to his/her individual needs and abilities.

Offers a therapeutic/residential setting for students ages 12-21 with classifications of autism, emotional disturbance, or health impairment. Westbrook Preparatory School is the first residential New York State Regents junior/senior high school for students with Asperger syndrome, high functioning autism and related conditions who require intensive support in a year-round school setting. Offers a therapeutic, residential experience integrated with an academic program individually attuned to each student’s unique strengths and challenges. Teaches independence while preparing them for post-secondary education, employment and life in the community. Day students may be referred by their school districts.

Provides a New York State approved, day school program serving toddlers, preschool, and elementary aged students with developmental disabilities or autism, and a wide range of intellectual ability and need. This program is committed to preparing children, whenever possible, to return to a less restrictive educational environment. As a child shows improved ability to function successfully they can participate in an integration program to provide experiences with more typical children or in a less restrictive educational setting. Also extends school for six weeks during the summer to provide year round comprehensive instruction and minimize student regression.

Special day school providing educational programming for students who have special learning, social, and emotional needs. Provides students with the academic, social, and behavioral supports necessary for meeting commencement requirements. School-to-work transition planning begins at age 13 to prepare students for the shift to the community and toward their post-secondary goals. Provides small, individualized class environments for students who are deaf, hard of hearing, have communication disorders, and/or have multiple disabilities. Provides a Language Rich Environment (LRE) utilizing American Sign Language (ASL) and spoken and written English. Instruction follows New York State Education Department standards. Related services, including Speech, Physical and Occupational Therapies, and counseling are available. Audiological services such as hearing tests and minor device repair (hearing aids, cochlear implants, BaHa’s, etc.) are provided on-site by a licensed audiologist. Classes in Art, Computer Technologies, Drama, Journalism, and Music are also offered. St. Mary’s has a strong after-school program that includes tutoring, sports and community-based activities. A five-day residential program is available.

A school that establishes a curriculum for each child, no matter how handicapped, and attempts to increase skill, increase rate, or improve a behavior specific to their level and learning ability in order to increase their chances of achievement. Also for the older youth offers a pre-vocational readiness program offering a logical and sequential system for developing the fundamental skills and work habits needed for real life job opportunities.
