Assists students with developmental disabilities to transition from school to work. This is accomplished by providing opportunities through three programs, Career explorations, Independent work-study, and a Summer Work Program. Also during the last six months of a student's final year of school, staff from Dutchess ARC collaborate with the student, the family, the counselor, and teachers to assist with the transition into adult services.

Organizes activities and volunteer jobs that help others in the community while individuals learn life skills, social skills and work skills. Must have an MSC referral. Call for further information.

A multi-faceted program which teaches appropriate behaviors and help students who are cognitively limited with intensive treatment needs, including those with autism spectrum disorders to develop the cognitive, social and life skills required to interact in the larger world. Also prepares students for an educational and employment plan, through individualized academic classes, job support and internships. Provides the transition support when students are in the process of going from education to employment.

Offers individual, family and group counseling, behavior management as well as information and referral for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and autism and their families. A therapeutic, adult, social, and recreational club meet weekly to work on goals that include increasing socialization and self-advocacy skills. Also provide a transition program for adolescents going to adulthood, including case management for children and adults with developmental disabilities.

SAIL provides information, advice, and assistance to youth with disabilities transitioning from school, family members, and other interested parties concerning transition planning and adult services and supports. The center also provides advocacy for transition planning, and assistance with the CSE process. SAIL provides assistance and support to individuals who are facing transitions in their lives. This includes transitions from Early Intervention Programs to school-based programs, transitions from school to work and/or adult services, transitions from living at home to moving into individual living arrangements, and other life transitions.

Fundamental to the Community Independence Program is the belief that individuals with developmental disabilities can and should be given the opportunity to determine the content and character of the service they receive, identify the goals to which they aspire, and choose the individuals that would provide them with assistance in identifying and attaining their goals.

Offers a public education to children who are residents at the Cottage, and those receiving day treatment, and focuses the curriculum to enhance their abilities and to graduate high school, and transition to the working work or to their community.

The program serves students with two or more disabling conditions that result in multi-sensory or motor deficiencies. These jobs can be in the competitive workforce, self-owned businesses in the home, sheltered workshops or in supported employment in the community. Also works with students, families and school districts to coordinate appropriate services for students with disabilities who are leaving secondary education and entering adult vocational rehabilitation.

Provides vocational rehabilitation services to eligible individuals to prepare them for employment (including helping them to further their education) consistent with their strengths, ability and interest. These jobs can be in the competitive workforce, self-owned businesses in the home, sheltered workshops or in supported employment in the community. Also works with students, families and school districts to coordinate appropriate services for students with disabilities who are leaving secondary education and entering adult vocational rehabilitation.

Provides assistance for students with cerebral palsy or developmental disabilities, graduating from high school, to transition from school to adult services. Students are able to participate in Day Habilitation, Pre-vocational and/or Vocational Services programs as appropriate. Students learn of job training programs and are better informed of opportunities for employment after high school graduation.
