Those who satisfactorily complete this Esthetics program are eligible to take the New York State exam that leads to a license in Esthetics. Students enjoy practicing on classmates and clinic clients as they study anatomy and physiology, bacteriology, sterilization, structure and function of the skin, facial procedures, use of various machines, waxing, basic make-up techniques, and business practices. Successful completion of the Esthetics program at Western Suffolk BOCES prepares you to sit for the New York State Esthetics licensing exam and includes 30-hour Laser Hair Removal certification. Meets the unique learning needs of students who are emotionally, behaviorally, or developmentally disabled to a mild/moderate degree through three distinct programs on a closed campus. The Nassau Education and Treatment (NET) Program which is a collaborative effort between Nassau BOCES, Sagamore Children's Psychiatric Hospital (Phase I) and North Shore Child & Family Guidance Center (Phase II). This meets the therapeutic, medical and learning needs for students diagnosed with various psychiatric disorders. The instructional program is aligned to the New York State Learning Standards and addresses students' cognitive levels and learning styles. Students are given the opportunity to: Earn a New York State Regents diploma or other state approved high school diploma and earn college credits through a partnership with S.U.N.Y Farmingdale State College. The Modified High School Program is designed to meet the learning and behavioral needs of students with varying abilities. The curriculum balances transitional and prevocational skills training, functional academics and New York State Learning standards. The instruction is aligned to the Career Development and Occupational Studies (CDOS) standards and leads to a Skills and Achievement Commencement Credential (SACC). The Life Skills Enrichment Program, offers a daily living skills curriculum with a functional academic base to develop job readiness skills. The instruction is aligned with the Skills and Achievement Commencement Credential (SACC). Students participate in non-paid internships at public and non-profit facilities and agencies, such as supermarkets, offices, parks and small businesses supervised by Nassau BOCES staff and on-site personnel to learn a variety of entry level skills. CCA’s behavior support program encourages positive choices, recognizes student achievement and supports the school mission to provide specially designed instruction to meet the social-emotional, academic, behavioral and transitional needs of students. The School of Practical Nursing at Western Suffolk BOCES is approved by the New York State Education Department and accredited by the Council on Occupational Education. BOCES’ program offers a low student-to-teacher ratio that allows many opportunities for highly personalized, hands-on instruction. The School prepares students to work with patients and medical staff in medical facilities including nursing homes. Students are then assigned to a clinical site at one of Long Island’s excellent health care facilities where they work under the guidance of an experienced health care professional. Classes are held at Wilson Technological Center’s Northport campus. Those who successfully complete the New York State-approved Practical Nursing program at BOCES meet the qualifications for admission to the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nursing (NCLEX-PN). Provides an alternative setting in the late afternoon for students who have not succeeded in the traditional educational setting. The program gives teenagers the necessary tools to either return successfully to their home high schools, or to complete their high school requirements, while helping them prepare for post-secondary education or employment. Students attend this Regents-based program in the late afternoon in their home school district. Students receive strong educational support, as classes are small and largely focused on the students. Offers this 1200-hour program for you to prepare to take the National Certifying Examination as a Surgical Technologist. A Surgical Technologist works closely with the surgeon, anesthesiologist and registered nurse to set up and assist in all type of surgical procedures. Offers a Fast-Track 7-hour course for those contractors and experienced operators who have experience as a heavy equipment operator and are not certified. Nassau BOCES has partnered with The LEARN Center to offer a solution that will protect you or your business from OSHA/NYC DOB safety violations. New laws and regulations are requiring that operating engineers be certified in the safe operation of heavy equipment. Certification is available on the backhoe, bulldozer, excavator, front-end loader and skid-steer. This 7-hour evaluation course consists of a 4-hour safety class and evaluation of the operator skills through practical exams for up to 3-hours. A program to prepare students for potential employment opportunities after graduation. Focus is placed on life skills training in domestic, travel and basic areas, and job skills for a variety of occupations.

Consists of a collection of integrated education and counseling services designed to facilitate the successful re-entry of ex-offenders into society. Re-ROUT strives to reduce the recidivism rate of criminal offenders who have completed a period of incarceration and/or probation in Suffolk County. Realizing that the first few weeks post-release can be crucial to a successful transition process, participants are encouraged to make contact with the Re-ROUT office located on the BOCES Ward Technical Center campus in Riverhead as soon as possible after release. There, the ex-offender is introduced to the Re-ROUT services. In the weeks that follow, the Re-ROUT office offers the needed services, referrals and support to aid the client's reintegration. New York Probation Officers and Correction Officers inform probationers and prisoners about the Re-ROUT Program during the initial orientation sessions. As part of the In-Jail Education Program, the Re-ROUT counselors work with the Probation Department and immediately help interested clients develop career/life/education plans. Upon release from the correctional facility and/or probation obligations, the ex-offender is invited to report to the Re-ROUT office at the Bixhorn Technical Center (BTC) in Bellport. There, the ex-offender is introduced to the Re-ROUT "outside" counseling staff. In the weeks that follow, this staff provides the needed services, referrals and support to aid their client's reintegration into society.
