Offers a course in Dental Assisting. Train to become an important part of a professional dental office. Learn the necessary skills to work with a dental team to provide patients with an excellent experience. Prepare to assist with all dental procedures including four-handed dentistry, tray set-ups, infection control and sterilization techniques. Study dental anatomy, oral cancer detection, radiology, and the uses of instruments and equipment. In addition, participate in an externship program and gain administrative and communication skills to make a dental office run smoothly. Upon completion, you will be ready to work in all types of dental offices. Additional courses in CPR and OSHA-10 are offered. Offers an amazing public high school program that has transformed the lives of young emerging artists from across Long Island through both its high school and summer programs. LIHSA is a Career and Technical Education (CTE) program. Under New York State’s “4+1” pathway assessment option, students must take and pass four required Regents Exams or Department Approved Alternative assessments and complete a comparably rigorous pathway to meet the fifth assessment requirement for graduation. Students can now do this with completion of the Career and Technical Education-approved exam and the core sequence of classes at LIHSA. Courses are offered in Performing Arts; Visual & Digital Arts; Scenic Construction & Production Technologies; Sonic Arts; Game Design; Multimedia Journalism; 3D Animation and Expressive Arts and Human Development. Our 38,000 square feet of studios and workshops across three buildings are filled with professional workspaces and facilities. We have four dance studios on campus, a larger theatre that holds 350 audience members with lighting and sound equipment, two smaller black box theatres, a recording studio, numerous classroom spaces, practice rooms, art studios, film editing room, darkroom, digital music space and a carpentry shop for scenic design. Offers a variety of employment, education, training, retraining, and child care programs for union members, displaced workers, and public assistance recipients. CWE is a consortium of 46 NYC Central Labor Council affiliated unions and locals has a partnership with NYS AFL-CIO that expands outreach services to Long Island.

Offers a program designed to promote the development of educationally at-risk pre-school children, ParentChild+ sends trained home visitors into participants’ homes to help parents become their children’s first teacher and make home their first classroom. Home visitors teach parents to increase children’s vocabulary through conversation, reading together, and play. They also assist children to develop pre-literacy skills so they will be on a par with their peers when they enter Pre-K. Developmentally appropriate books and toys are used to foster language development and pre-literacy skills. Children of families that participate in this two-year program begin their formal school experiences with a vocabulary that is on a par with children from “middle income” families. Research shows ParentChild+ children continue to achieve academically at the same level or better through the 4th- and 8th-grade standardized tests. Call for more detailed information.

Assists youth and adults to succeed in the workforce by encouraging self-sufficiency, familiarizing them with the world of work, facilitating the creation of job opportunities, and providing services related to these activities. Vocational rehabilitation provides HSED (formerly GED), career readiness workshops, vocational and classroom training, construction technology program, and work experience services for members of the Seneca Nation of Indians and other federally recognized Nations residing 20 miles of all Seneca Nation territories who have a documented disability. Tribal 477 provides HSED (formerly GED), training, career readiness workshops, vocational and classroom training, construction technology program, and work experience services for members of the Seneca Nation of Indians and other federally recognized Nations (and children of an enrolled Seneca father) residing 25 miles of the Cattaraugus, Allegany and Oil Springs territories.
