Offers a program designed to promote the development of educationally at-risk pre-school children, ParentChild+ sends trained home visitors into participants’ homes to help parents become their children’s first teacher and make home their first classroom. Home visitors teach parents to increase children’s vocabulary through conversation, reading together, and play. They also assist children to develop pre-literacy skills so they will be on a par with their peers when they enter Pre-K. Developmentally appropriate books and toys are used to foster language development and pre-literacy skills. Children of families that participate in this two-year program begin their formal school experiences with a vocabulary that is on a par with children from “middle income” families. Provides academic support in math, literacy and ENL for newly emigrated Hempstead High School Students (grades 9-12). Offers their parents ESL classes and parent education workshops. Call for more information.

Provides parents with information and support resources to help them aid their child in the educational process.

Provides low-income families with the necessary skills and tools to ensure their children achieve their greatest potential in school and in life. The National Center assists underserved communities in replicating and expanding PCHP's proven school readiness program that builds early parent-child verbal interaction and learning at home

Provides information and referrals to parents who are struggling with their child's educational matters, for a variety of reasons, and need help finding resources available to them in the community.

Assists parents and works with school districts and local schools to find the best school for their children, and has a bi-lingual and bi-cultural staff to help answer any questions about the local school systems.

A volunteer driver network to help caregivers and families without transportation get to important school events.A week's notice is required to arrange a ride.

* Responds to the needs of parents, encourage partnerships, advocate on the behalf of parents, collaborate with community partners, help parents help their students to academic success.

* Serves as a link between parents and school, keeping parents informed of school events and how they can become involved, along with assisting the parent with any concerns or questions they may have about the school, including but not limited to: Attendance. Bullying. Communication with the school.
