CITIZENSHIP EXAM PREPARATION | SUNY WESTCHESTER COMMUNITY COLLEGE - PEEKSKILL CAMPUS

Offers a 7-week course, each semester, to help immigrants to prepare for the citizenship exam. This course is designed for individuals whose English is at least at a high-beginning level (ELI Level 3+). Students will learn about American history and government to prepare them for the civics portion of the exam, and will practice their English skills to prepare for the reading, writing, and speaking portions of the exam. By the end of the course, students will also be familiar with the structure of the Citizenship interview.

COMMERCIAL DRIVER’S LICENSE (CDL) | NASSAU COMMUNITY COLLEGE CONTINUING EDUCATION & WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT

In partnership with Ancora Corporate Training, NCC is offering a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A training program. This CDL Training Class A Truck Driver program provides the optimal balance between classroom learning and on the road training to better prepare students for the CDL exam. Class sizes are small and experienced instructors will provide you with insight into what it's like to be a truck driver. Students in the CDL Training Class A Tractor Trailer program will gain skills in the areas of: Vehicle inspections; Defensive driving; Range maneuvers; Motor carrier safety regulations; Trip planning; Cargo handling; Size/weight laws; Vehicle maneuvering; Hours of service and Accident prevention.
