This CDL Training Class A Truck Driver program provides the optimal balance between classroom learning and on the road training to better prepare students for the CDL exam. Offers a non-credit-bearing certificate program leading to eligibility for the licensure examination and PN licensure. This program includes classroom theory, theoretical knowledge, and clinical experiences to prepare students to take the NCLEX-PN for licensure as a Practical Nurse and the opportunity to pursue advanced college training. Offers a program that will provide students with the knowledge needed to perform the duties required of an entry-level Dialysis Technician trainee. The program covers the key principles of kidney function and failure and dialysis therapy, kidney dialysis machines, dialyzer preparation and reprocessing, as well as how to assist dialysis patients in managing their disease and treatment. The course is a remote format with 50 hours of instructor-led classes via Zoom video conferencing and access to an online system. Students with a high school diploma and who complete a minimum of one year of employment as a Dialysis Technician at an End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) or medical facility can apply to take the Board of Nephrology Examiners Nursing Technology (BONENT) Certified Hemodialysis Technician certifying exam. A current, government-issued ID and a clear record with no felonies is required to take the exam. This training is appropriate for RNs, EMTs, CNAs, PCTs and other health care professionals interested in specializing in dialysis. For those without healthcare experience, this course will provide basic dialysis treatment knowledge to make the student more marketable in applying for an employee training program at a Dialysis Treatment Center. Offers a 7-week course, each semester, to help immigrants to prepare for the citizenship exam. This course is designed for individuals whose English is at least at a high-beginning level (ELI Level 3+). Students will learn about American history and government to prepare them for the civics portion of the exam, and will practice their English skills to prepare for the reading, writing, and speaking portions of the exam. By the end of the course, students will also be familiar with the structure of the Citizenship interview.

Offers students a full-time, two-year program that qualifies students to sit for any of five registry examinations in Diagnostic Medical Sonography. This accredited School of Diagnostic Medical Sonography at Western Suffolk BOCES prepares students to work with patients and medical staff in physicians’ offices, hospitals and clinics. The BOCES curriculum integrates basic sciences, medical sciences and instruction in diagnostic medical sonography with supervised clinical experience in hospitals and doctors’ offices from Manhattan to Southampton. These clinical sites provide unique opportunities for learning and excelling as students rotate through five specialties of Abdominal, Breast Ultrasound, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Adult Cardiac and Vascular Sonography.
