NASSAU COUNTY RIFLE & PISTOL RANGE | MITCHEL ATHLETIC COMPLEX

Offers the only indoor range open to the public in the county. The range accommodates rifles, shotguns, and handguns. There are six ranges and 30 individual shooting points available, and targets can be set from 5-30 yards. Hunting safety classes are also offered. The range is available for use by certified clubs and the range has NRA certified instructors. Hunting safety classes are also offered. The range does not rent any guns. Black powder firearms are NOT permitted. The range is located at the Mitchel Field Athletic Complex. No membership fee is required, but daily admission fees are charged. CHILDSAFE FIREARM SAFETY PROGRAM | POUND RIDGE POLICE DEPARTMENT

FIREARM SAFETY AND PROFICIENCY | F6 Labs

Offers a 5-week program that will teach each student firearms safety, weapon nomenclature, proper weapons handling, fundamentals of marksmanship, as well as an introduction to tactical medicine, tactical procedures and response to a mass casualty event. This course is ideal for anyone who is interested in a law enforcement or military career. This program is also encouraged for those who are looking to have a better understanding of firearms and firearms safety. The instruction in this course is provided by veterans from each branch of the United States Military as well as active Law Enforcement Officers from state, federal and local agencies. Tuition includes the use of firearms and ammunition. Call for detailed information.

Responsibilities include the coordination and development of programs including bicycle safety programs, children's fingerprinting, senior citizen safety, and car seat installations and inspections.
