At no cost to the homeowner, the program arranges for a certified Long Island professional to conduct a comprehensive "Healthy Home Energy Assessment" to identify any efficiency or health and safety issues in the home. This may include water leaks, injury or environmental hazards, pests, and heating, plumbing and electrical deficiencies. Following the assessment, the homeowner will be referred to appropriate resources that are available through the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) on Long Island.
