DIAGNOSTIC MEDICAL SONOGRAPHY | WESTERN SUFFOLK BOCES WILSON TECH NORTHPORT CAMPUS
Offers students a full-time, two-year program that qualifies students to sit for any of five registry examinations in Diagnostic Medical Sonography. This accredited School of Diagnostic Medical Sonography at Western Suffolk BOCES prepares students to work with patients and medical staff in physicians’ offices, hospitals and clinics. The BOCES curriculum integrates basic sciences, medical sciences and instruction in diagnostic medical sonography with supervised clinical experience in hospitals and doctors’ offices from Manhattan to Southampton. These clinical sites provide unique opportunities for learning and excelling as students rotate through five specialties of Abdominal, Breast Ultrasound, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Adult Cardiac and Vascular Sonography. Students will receive hands-on training with color flow Doppler and 3D/4D imaging. Western Suffolk BOCES has been accredited as an authorized provider by: Commission of the Council on Occupational Education and the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs upon the recommendation of the Joint Review committee on Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
