Evaluation of motor, cognitive, visual and perceptual skills to determine if individual should be driving. Referral to special driving schools when appropriate.
The driver evaluation program determines an individual’s ability to begin or resume driving, taking into consideration a person’s physical, cognitive, and visual deficits. It is the only medical-based evaluation program in WNY. Evaluations and licensed driver training are performed exclusively by specially trained occupational therapists in driver rehabilitation.
Provides evaluation and training of individuals with disabilities to help them obtain their NYS Driver's License, along with permit tutoring, adaptive equipment prescriptions as needed, vehicle/equipment assessments, and behind-the-wheel assessment and training.

The Office for the Aging offers many services for the senior residents of Steuben County including, but not limited to, information and referral, nutrition through congregate meals, advocacy, support groups, transportation services, caregiver services, case management, and the Bone Builders and Senior Meal Programs. Bone Builders and the Senior Dinner Clubs are overseen by Pro Action of Steuben-Yates.
