Virtual, interactive two-day course to learn about the birthing process, comfort measures, partner coaching techniques and hospital experience. This class is taught by a Certified Childbirth Educator and includes a full-color companion book (LCCE).

Depending on your needs, some health care support groups assist with specific conditions and issues, while others are more general in nature. Some of our support groups include: Bereavement Support Group; Breast Cancer Support Group; Breastfeeding Support Group; Cancer Family Support Groups; Caregiver Support Group; Diabetes Support Group; Dialysis Support Group; Gastric Sleeve Support Group; Prostate Cancer Support Group and Stroke Support Group. Mother and baby education for the whole family is available throughout the entire course of pregnancy and beyond including lactation services, childbirth class and car seat safety checks. Helps expectant parents best understand their pregnancy and how to handle changes, both emotional and physical. Provides several safe and nurturing shelters, in various locations, for young women who are pregnant and homeless. Along with housing, parenting and life skills classes, job training and other counseling is provided in order to prepare them to have a better chance of success once they are on their own. Also one home is specifically designed to focus on the needs of homeless, pregnant women with mental illness or drug/alcohol addiction.

Offers several resources to help ensure children get a strong start for a healthy life. Programs include: Early Intervention – a voluntary developmental evaluation and services program offered by New York State and administered locally by the Nassau County Department of Health Office for Children with Special Needs; Preschool Special Education - provides services to children who are 3 to 5 years old with developmental delays and/or educational needs; WIC - Special Supplemental Foods Program for Women, Infants and Children. WIC provides nutritious foods as well as nutrition counseling and education for its participants; Lead Poisoning & Prevention – Offers information to prevent lead poisoning in children; Cribs for Kids - providing a safe-sleep education program for parents and caregivers which includes the intervention of a safety-approved crib if the family cannot otherwise afford one; Healthy Moms & Babies - Resource center to promote the well-being of childbearing women, infants, their families and communities.; Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs (CYSHCN) –provides referrals and information about resources in your community that help benefit children with special health care needs and their families; Child Fatality Review Team - review child deaths to better understand the causes of these deaths and to make recommendations based on the team's findings in order to reduce future child fatalities; and the 4th Trimester – resources to help moms with taking care of themselves with Post-Partum Depression, breast feeding and more.
