Offers several resources to help ensure children get a strong start for a healthy life. Programs include: Early Intervention – a voluntary developmental evaluation and services program offered by New York State and administered locally by the Nassau County Department of Health Office for Children with Special Needs; Preschool Special Education - provides services to children who are 3 to 5 years old with developmental delays and/or educational needs; WIC - Special Supplemental Foods Program for Women, Infants and Children. WIC provides nutritious foods as well as nutrition counseling and education for its participants; Lead Poisoning & Prevention – Offers information to prevent lead poisoning in children; Cribs for Kids - providing a safe-sleep education program for parents and caregivers which includes the intervention of a safety-approved crib if the family cannot otherwise afford one; Healthy Moms & Babies - Resource center to promote the well-being of childbearing women, infants, their families and communities.; Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs (CYSHCN) –provides referrals and information about resources in your community that help benefit children with special health care needs and their families; Child Fatality Review Team - review child deaths to better understand the causes of these deaths and to make recommendations based on the team's findings in order to reduce future child fatalities; and the 4th Trimester – resources to help moms with taking care of themselves with Post-Partum Depression, breast feeding and more. Services include nursing, social services, home health aides, social workers, infusion therapy, home health evaluations and assessments, nutritional counseling, arranging of medical equipment and supplies, and physical, occupational, and speech therapy. Long term home health care program available. Specialized programs in pediatrics, behavioral health, and wound care available. In-facility assessments for discharge planning at hospitals and skilled nursing facilities available upon request. Serves as a state provider in the MOMS (Medicaid Obstetrical & Maternal Services) Program, providing comprehensive support nursing services for prenatal and postpartum women.

Provides pregnancy testing, ultrasound, vitamin supplements, nutritional evaluation, regular medical check-ups, counseling, baby care instruction, childbirth classes, and other services for low-income mothers-to-be who may not be able to afford good prenatal care. Also, provide postpartum pregnancy care services.
