* VA Suicide Prevention Coordinators (SPC) are specialized case managers who ensure that veterans at high risk of suicide receive the care they need. Furthermore, they are involved in training and education, both within the VA and in the community. The new VA suicide prevention initiative has placed more than 150 Suicide Prevention Coordinators nationwide, all of which are licensed mental health professionals.

Services may include: psychiatry, intermediate medicine, extended care, homeless and alcohol/drug abuse programs, cardiac rehabilitation, nuclear medicine, radiation oncology, nursing home and respite care.

* Vet Centers provide readjustment counseling and outreach services to all veterans who served in any combat zone. Services are also available for their family members for military related issues.
