Aids individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in making choices and finding individualized services. They provide help in navigating through available services including assistance with eligibility determination, service coordination, and advocacy services. Service coordination is also available to children ages birth to 3 years old who have been diagnosed with a developmental disability or delay.

Functional Vision Training is provided to visually impaired children from birth to five years of age. Training is in the child's home or his/her preschool program. This training helps a visually impaired child function more independently and lays the basis for a more independent adult in the future.

A Westchester County-sponsored early childhood mental health project and early intervention services for children from infancy through age 4 who are attending eligible childhood programs, including South Yonkers Head Start.

Infant Program provides services for children birth to approximately twelve-eighteen months with a focus on parent education. Support is given to families to help encourage their child's growth in gross and fine motor, cognition, speech and language, social development and self-help skills. The Toddler Program services children eighteen months to three years of age. Educational activities are designed to promote skills in all areas of development with a focus on special instruction, speech/language, physical and occupational therapy, ABA training, counseling, audiology, nutrition and nursing services. Family training and family support services are also offered. Both programs are in-home or center based. Transportation and in-house library,toys, books, audio visual materials are available.

* Provides special education, speech, occupational, and physical therapy to children with challenges spanning a variety of developmental delays, including Autism Spectrum Disorder. * Provides service coordination for Early Intervention families. * Provides seasoned evaluators who interact with families and their child to determine any delays, and suggest types of intervention including Early Intervention Program or NYS Education Preschool Services if applicable.* Offers a 2-hour Sensory Sync UP class. Varied sensory experiences. Services can be provided during the 2-hour class time based on the child's needs. Class is instructed by a special education teacher, and with the help of a teacher assistant to a class of no more than 6 children.

Provides information, referral, assessments and evaluations for children with suspected delays in physical, cognitive, language or emotional development. Services also provided in case management, parent/family training, support groups, early intervention programs, preschool services, school age services and evaluations, clinical services for children 0-21 years old. Offers a preschool which specializes in serving children in need of a highly structured learning environment and present with autism spectrum disorders or PDD (pervasive development disorder). Classes are small which allow for an intensive learning environment. The Language Enriched Academic Development Program (LEAD) effectively targets communication competence, social interactions, and pre-academic and academic readiness skills. A collaborative model provides a speech and language therapist with the special education teacher in every classroom all day, every day, to support speech, language, cognitive and social development. They utilize the Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to shape behaviors and teach new skills through repetition and reinforcement. Instruction targets Activities of Daily Living (ADL). A progressive total communication system is utilized including spoken words, photographs, pictures, symbols and/or sign language, to increase communication skills. The Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) is used to engage students in a social exchange to request and/or communicate their needs. Additionally, we have specially trained staff that may address any mealtime management concerns, such as limited food repertoire. A collaborative team including teachers, social workers, psychologist, occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech therapists, and administrative personnel strive to meet the individualized educational needs of each child. Family input is encouraged and parent training is provided throughout the school year. Provides early intervention classroom- based programs for children birth-age 3 with a wide variety of disablilities. Parent training is available to show parents how to dress, feed, play with and stimulate their child's growth and development. Teachers give instruction in the classroom. Physical, speech and/or occupational therapy is also available.

Provides a multidisciplinary evaluation for children 3-5 yrs of age and a 4-hour and a 2.5-hour special education classroom with individual or group therapies. Also provides parent education programs and parent support group.

Provides developmental evaluations for young children, which is a comprehensive assessment of all areas of functioning including cognitive skills, motor development, communication, social/emotional development, and adaptive/personal care skills. The results of the evaluation, including a full written report, are shared with parents. If the child is eligible for services, it is determined the type, frequency and location of services. If appropriate, services can be offered in the home, daycare or preschool, or within a therapeutic setting such as a specialized school program.

Provides a multidisciplinary evaluation for children 3-5yrs, a 2 1/2 hour integrated classroom with individual or group therapies. Also provides parent education programs and parent support group.

Provides Early Intervention services in the home for children ages 0-3 with a referral from the county. Offers full-day programming for children ages 3-7 with significant speech/language, hearing, cognitive, and other developmental delays.
