NCK services are individually tailored to meet the needs of each child and their family through early intervention and preschool services.

Provides classroom based programs for children ages 2.9 through 5 years of age, who have been evaluated and approved to attend the program by the Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE) from the community in which the child resides. As per the child's Individualized Education Plan (IEP) children may receive rehabilitative therapies, nursing services and counseling services. Also offers a day care component for typically developing children. The Center is also an approved evaluation site for the Committee on Preschool Special Education, with evaluations being conducted on site in either Bayside or the Roslyn site (St. Mary's Kids at Roslyn) as well as in the child's home. Provides early intervention services for children with developmental delays. Evaluates and provides speech, occupational, physical therapies, and provides social work services, psychological and special educational services, including planned behavior modification for children with autism. One-to-one services are also available for parents who can or want to pay.

Screening for children from infancy to 5 years to detect delays in speech, language, behavior, coordination, or general physical development.

Provides support services to young children with developmental delays in their homes and other community settings. Special education, speech and language therapy, occupational and physical therapy, and counseling can be provided in daycare, preschools and family homes. Teaching in the natural environment focuses on sensory and language rich activities, adaptive living skills, and social skill development, as well as building attention and pre-readiness skills. For young children with Autism Spectrum Disorders, the Center for Spectrum Services can design home programs employing a verbal behavior approach following the principles of applied behavioral analysis. Each child's program is individually designed to meet their unique learning style and level of family participation.

This program provides both an early intervention and preschool program, which assesses the level of each child's abilities and prepare a program to build on their strengths. Class sizes range from 6-12 children, and offer half and full day sessions.

Provides evaluation and intervention for children who begin to show delays in development in the first few months and years.

Provides pre-school and school-age programs for 0-21 year olds who are multiply handicapped with intellectual and other developmental disabilities. Also provides visual, auditory and speech education to children birth-5 years who suffer from intellectual or developmental disabilities, multiple handicaps and delayed speech. Transdisciplinary staff includes social workers, psychologists, therapists and medical support team. Family support and crisis intervention counseling provided.

DBCH provides an Early Intervention program for young children with developmental disabilities or delays. Offers an evaluation and if eligible receives services to enhance the child's growth and development.

Home and community-based services for children with developmental delays. Services include ongoing service coordination, evaluation, speech, physical and occupational therapy, special education, services for the visually impaired, audiology, and neurology.

Rehabilitative services offered to children ages birth to 5 years suspected or diagnosed with a developmental disability and/or delay, and offers education advocacy for preschool age children which help parents to learn about support services and educational options.

Provides educational services to assist children with disabilities including: infants, preschoolers, adolescents and young adults needing early intervention, preschool and schoolage educational and therapeutic services, so that students are physically and academically prepared for maximum independence, and when appropriate, participate in their own community schools. Programs include: The Early Intervention Program (for children birth to age 3), The Pre-School Division (ages3-5), Ungraded Kindergarten through Grade 2 (ages 5-7), and The Schoolage Program (ages 5-21). Aids individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in making choices and finding individualized services. They provide help in navigating through available services including assistance with eligibility determination, service coordination, and advocacy services. Service coordination is also available to children ages birth to 3 years old who have been diagnosed with a developmental disability or delay.

Provides evaluation and service coordination for any child suspected of having a developmental delay or a diagnosed disability; provides special instruction, speech, occupational and physical therapy to meet the needs of EI eligible children.

CCCCNC hosts Developmental Screening services for newborns to children aged 5 years old. At these screenings you will receive free, valuable feedback on your child’s development by early childhood specialists.

Offers a voluntary developmental evaluation and services program offered by New York State and administered locally by the Nassau County Department of Health Office for Children with Special Needs. To be eligible for EI services, children must be under 3 years of age and have a confirmed disability or established developmental delay, as defined by New York State, in one or more of the following areas of development: physical, cognitive, communication, social-emotional, and/or adaptive. Evaluations are conducted to determine eligibility. A variety of therapeutic and support services are offered to eligible infants and toddlers with disabilities and their families. Major provisions of the program include: Identification and referral of children at risk or suspected of disability by primary referral sources; Periodic developmental screening and tracking of at risk children; Service coordination for eligible children and families; A multidisciplinary evaluation provided at no cost to parents to determine eligibility; Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs) for eligible children and families; Provision of early intervention services in the IFSP at no cost to parents and Delivery of services in natural settings in the community where children of the same age are typically found, to the maximum extent appropriate. Provides a number of programs and services for medically fragile and technology dependent. This facility containsts the largest freestanding pediatric ventilator program in the country, along with skilled nursing, rehabilitative care, and a state-of-the-art respiratory care program. In addition, provides an on-site private school and day care for medically fragile and technology dependent children.
