Allows members to experience the physical and mental benefits of gardening. Taught by an experienced instructor.

Provides care to multiple sclerosis patients and their families including diagnostic services, on-going assessment and management, physical therapy, counseling and resource and referral services.

The MS Centers of Excellence are dedicated to further the understanding of the disease, its impact on Veterans, and effective treatments to help manage MS symptoms. By partnering with Veterans, caregivers, and health care providers we hope to minimize disease impairment and increase the quality of life for Veterans with MS. Our goals are to improve the quality and consistency of health services delivered to veterans with MS across the country.

Provides information and referrals to local resources and services, including access to a database of research and information about MS.

Provides participants with the opportunity to ride horses while improving their posture,balance,mobility, and function. Benefits may also include improved muscle tone, cognition, coordination, and motor development.

Neurological Rehabilitation coordinates inpatient and outpatient diagnostic and rehabilitation services. Also includes evaluation and treatment of medical problems associated with multiple sclerosis and Parkinson's disease. Functional Electrical Stimulation,(FES), Vibration Therapy, Exoskeleton, and Body Weight Supported Gait Training.

Offered to members who are unable to continue physical therapy due to lack of private health insurance or maximization of their health benefits. The activity focuses on increasing muscle strength, stretching and balance coordination taught by trained instructors. Takes place in Bellmore and Bohemia.

A comprehensive care center for Multiple Sclerosis which provides some of the most advanced services for diagnosis and treatment, along with a multi-disciplinary approach to integrate knowledge of disease-modifying therapies, symptom management and attention to psycho-social aspects of the disease.
