* Provides public health services that include:

• Rabies Prevention (receive notification of all dog bites in the county and work with the person that was bitten to make sure they get screened for rabies risk and the need for post-exposure prophylaxis).
• Lead Poisoning Prevention (works with families of children at risk for, or with an elevated blood lead level to reduce that child's level). Testing is not provided by public health but a referral is made to the NYS office.
• Immunization Program (provides mandatory and optional vaccines for the county residents)
• Communicable Disease Program (investigates and coordinates with other agencies on reports of State-defined communicable diseases).
• Healthy Families Program (Assists at-risk families with strength-based guidance and support in parenting and other life issues).

Offers community clinics which focus on primary and family medical care, along with routine immunizations for both children and adults. Also available, is a laboratory for blood, urine, and other lab tests that may be needed.

Offers offers primary care, health education, laboratory work and referrals; comprehensive assessment, diagnostic and/or treatment services for individuals who have asthma.

Provides the Seasonal Flu and H1N1 vaccines. Note: It is recommended that pregnant women and children under 18, receive the Seasonal Flu vaccine from their primary doctor.

DBCH Provides routine childhood vaccinations and recommended adult vaccines. Also officers travel vaccinations for those who will be traveling out of the county.

Immunization clinics to prevent communicable diseases are offered year round for adults and uninsured/underinsured children in Health Department offices in Middletown and Newburgh.

Services include: Prenatal Care, Routine Prenatal Care, High Risk Pregnancy Care, Nutritional Guidance, Medicaid/PCAP Certification, Social Services, WIC and FAN Referrals, HIV Counseling and Testing, Perinatal Consultation, Alcohol and Substance Abuse Screening, Gynecology, Routine Exams, Post Partum Follow Up, Endometrical Biopsies, Follow-up Care from the Emergency Department, Referrals for Mammography and Gynecology Oncology, Pediatric Services, Immunizations, General Health Physicals, Sick Visists, Hearing and Vision Screenings, Pediatric Cardiology, Cardiac Evaluation, Ongoing Cardiac Follow-up, Pediatric Asthma/Allergy, Allergy Testing, Pulmonary Function Testing, Nebulization and Patient Education, Neonatal High Risk, Infant Follow-up Care, Social Service Referrals, Synagis Immunizations, and Prophylactic Immunization for infants at risk for RSV.
