Also works with students, families and school districts to coordinate appropriate services for students with disabilities who are leaving secondary education and entering adult vocational rehabilitation.

Provides short, non-credit programs focused on helping unemployed, underemployed, and career changing individuals enter manufacturing careers (Welding, CNC/Machining, Industrial Maintenance Technician, BAS, HVAC etc.). Students who enter the programs do not need a high school diploma and the course fees are often entirely or partially covered by grants, scholarships and other funding sources. JCC Career Services will also support these students in their efforts to find a job. At the end of several programs, a workshop is held that leads students through resume building and interview skills. Workforce Development invites local manufacturing companies to interview students on campus at the end of some of the programs (welding, machining and industrial maintenance). Students have access to JCC Career Services for a year after the completion of their program.

The program is designed for individuals who wish to begin a career in education as well as for individuals presently employed in area school districts who wish to or need to upgrade their professional credentials to meet New York State and/or local district guidelines. A program which guides individuals through pre-job information, such as resume writing, interview skills, etc., including job training, and job searching as they transition back into the work force.
Established the student internship program to assist students in furthering their education and experience in the field of criminal justice. The Suffolk County Police Department offers this unique opportunity for students to observe the functions and operations of the department. The program will give each student a representative sampling of the comprehensive training that every police recruit must complete before they can transition to patrol duty. Interns will be assigned to their local precinct to observe the different commands of the precinct. Interns will also be assigned to Special Patrol and various commands in Police Headquarters. Offers a special education high school focusing on students’ social, emotional, vocational, and academic needs. The general instructional program includes both individual and cooperative learning strategies. Individual and small group counseling services are provided for each student as mandated by the IEP. Students have the option to participate in vocational/work-based programs in food preparation, automotive technology, and woodshop. Students can be enrolled in college courses provided through SUNY Farmingdale State College while meeting their high school requirements. Students earn a Regents or Local Diploma and are also offered the opportunity to earn the Career Development and Occupational Studies Commencement Credential. CPHS has been associated through the years with Hofstra University and Nassau Community College. At these locations students are exposed to college life with support and supervision provided by Nassau BOCES staff. Students can earn college credit at Nassau Community College and have access to various opportunities on campus. At Hofstra University, students have the opportunity to attend their high school classes on campus and receive practical work experience in various areas on campus. The program offers the Rebound Program. This is a more restrictive setting, which consists of 6:1:2 classrooms, offering a flexible curriculum combined with counseling. CPHS also offers the Individualized Learning Academy. The Individualized Learning Academy is a half-day, three-hour program specially geared for students with emotional disturbances who demonstrate severe challenging behaviors and require a shortened day with individualized instruction. CPHS students whose districts recommend that they also attend Barry Tech will receive a reduced tuition. Call for more detailed information.

Prepares graduates for emerging new careers in the legalized cannabis industry. There is a growing need for skilled technicians and specialists who can enter this exciting field as growers, budtenders, dispensary staff, product managers, and marketing/sales associates. Offered as an online program, the Certificate in Cannabis Production and Management requires students to complete 24 credit hours which includes three courses in cannabis science and production, three courses in the business of legalized cannabis, one course that explores the economics of the cannabis market, and one course that addresses medicinal and health-related issues to legalized cannabis. The center also provides information, advice, and training concerning job-seeking skills including: dressing for an interview, maintaining personal hygiene, communicating with co-workers, communicating with supervisors.
Summer Youth Employment & Training Program (SYETP) is a summer academic and career development program. Youth are exposed to an enriching learning environment that includes academic development, career/vocational focus, and exploration/recreational activities. Participants 14 to 18 have the opportunity to participate in job shadowing/summer internships and earn a stipend for their participation.
