Provides youth with referrals and services to meet their academic and employment needs. Services may include work experience, tutoring, life skills, counseling, career exploration, job readiness, and the opportunity to earn rewards for academic job performance.

Offers guidance and counseling to assist consumers who are legally blind find or retain employment. Vocational counselors work with the consumer to develop an Individualized Plan for Employment (IPE). The IPE acts as a road map to guide the consumer toward their employment goals. Goals vary, and include preparing for and finding a job, continuing at a current workplace or maintaining a household independently.

The GED Program is designed for persons who are at least 19 years in age who did not complete the requirements for high school graduation.All new students are required to take a reading and math assessment to assure proper placement. This test should take approximately two hours. Collaborates with OPWDD to offer a person-centered career planning and support service that will help individuals with developmental disabilities reach their employment goals. Engages individuals with identifying a career/vocational direction, provide instruction and training in pre-employment skills, and develop a path for achieving competitive, integrated employment.

Counseling Services is a FREE and confidential resource for registered SUNY Broome Students. Offers short-term counseling, support through crises, group counseling, workshops, wellness programming and consultations. Staffed with employment professionals from several private and public entities, the Employment Center functions as a full service human resources facility. The center supplies the job seeking customer with all the tools necessary for a self-directed or staff-assisted job search, and provides employers with facilities and workforce support. Equipped with state of the art computers, fax machines, phones, and copiers, the Employment Center also maintains job banks and specializes in job clubs, job fairs, employability and computer workshops and focus groups. Employment Center visitors are able to accomplish many tasks, whether it be to create and edit their resume, navigate the Internet for their job search.
