Meets the unique learning needs of students who are emotionally, behaviorally, or developmentally disabled to a mild/moderate degree through three distinct programs on a closed campus. The Nassau Education and Treatment (NET) Program which is a collaborative effort between Nassau BOCES, Sagamore Children's Psychiatric Hospital (Phase I) and North Shore Child & Family Guidance Center (Phase II). This meets the therapeutic, medical and learning needs for students diagnosed with various psychiatric disorders. The instructional program is aligned to the New York State Learning Standards and addresses students' cognitive levels and learning styles. Students are given the opportunity to: Earn a New York State Regents diploma or other state approved high school diploma and earn college credits through a partnership with S.U.N.Y Farmingdale State College. The Modified High School Program is designed to meet the learning and behavioral needs of students with varying abilities. The curriculum balances transitional and prevocational skills training, functional academics and New York State Learning standards. The instruction is aligned to the Career Development and Occupational Studies (CDOS) standards and leads to a Skills and Achievement Commencement Credential (SACC). The Life Skills Enrichment Program, offers a daily living skills curriculum with a functional academic base to develop job readiness skills. The instruction is aligned with the Skills and Achievement Commencement Credential (SACC). Students participate in non-paid internships at public and non-profit facilities and agencies, such as supermarkets, offices, parks and small businesses supervised by Nassau BOCES staff and on-site personnel to learn a variety of entry level skills. CCA’s behavior support program encourages positive choices, recognizes student achievement and supports the school mission to provide specially designed instruction to meet the social-emotional, academic, behavioral and transitional needs of students. Through a collaborative process among students, staff, families, school districts and outside agencies, CCA maintains a safe and supportive learning community enabling students to become productive, functional and independent members of society.

Offers a variety of opportunities for employment. Career Options provides job readiness, skill assessment, diagnostic vocational evaluation, résumé development, career counseling, job development, on the job training, and follow up services. The Vocational Centers offer job opportunities for individuals to develop and improve the skills necessary to meet their goals for employment. The Center focuses on soft skills development such as acceptance of supervision, following directions, attention to task, co-worker relationships, job completion and time management.

Provides career and business coaching to help people assess their career, and make the necessary adjustments and change of direction. Help is offered through active listening and interpretation, and administering career counseling tests designed to help people get a handle on this critical part of their lives.

Offers strategies for dealing with heroin and opioid abuse, recovery and healing strategies; also treating cocaine, alcohol, amphetamine, methamphetamine psychotropic, psychoactive, cannabis, and other prescribed medication abuse. Building inner strength, self-exploration, identifying triggers and reward behavior, accountability, individual plan of action, thought processing skills, goal setting, coping mechanisms, workforce and career development; financial literacy and life skills management. Addiction recovery/healing offered through-group sessions, 1 on 1 coaching, workshops, lectures, seminars and emergency call coaching.

PREP is a teen pregnancy prevention program for middle school-aged youth that uses evidence-based program models to educate youth on healthy decision-making patterns, abstinence and contraception, as well as adult preparatory subjects, which includes healthy relationships, financial literacy, effective parent-child communication, and college and career planning. PREP has an Advisory Board that is dedicated to helping through cross-collaborative partnerships (related to positive youth development work), program oversight, sustainability, and expansion opportunities for youth in Haverstraw and Spring Valley.

Provides educational services to minors under 21 years of age in the Riverhead and Yaphank Correctional Facilities, for a minimum of 15 hours per week, to prepare students for TASC™ or Regents testing. Also available are Tutoring, Remedial Education, ENL, and Career and Technical Education, and Career/Life Planning and anger management. The program is designed to prepare students to complete the requirements for a Regents, Local or High School Equivalency Diploma. Courses of study infuse contextualized learning, career preparation and skills achievement into daily lessons.

Offers veterans, including those with PTSD, support meetings, networking opportunities, creativity and job preparation workshops and social activity experience to promote a healthy transition back to civilian life. Services include: Crisis intervention; Counseling; Referral to community service agencies; Assertiveness training; Decision-making training; Assessment; Resume writing; Job search strategies and Job clubs.
