Assists people with blindness or vision impairments prepare for and retain jobs in the competitive marketplace by developing career plans, learn office skills, access higher education and obtain internships or full-time jobs. Additionally, Lighthouse professionals work with local-area employees to make the workplace accessible for people with vision impairments, and match employers with qualified candidates. Offers counseling, career development, work readiness seminars, intensive computer and office skills training, self-employment training, and job placement assistance to displaced homemakers.

Provides employment related services to Suffolk County Youth. Offers youth career counseling, resume preparation, computer labs, job listings, vocational training, video library, phones/fax for job search and career exploration via Career Zone and Choices, as well as access to the Community Resource Database of Long Island. Offers the In-School Youth Experience Program; a federally funded, school-based program for economically disadvantaged and/or at risk youth age 14-21. In close cooperation with several Suffolk County school districts, the program promotes good work habits and workplace skills aimed toward a future of success in the workforce. Also offers the Out-of-School Youth Work Experience Program; a federally funded program for economically disadvantaged youth aged 16-24 who are high school dropouts wanting to complete their high school education or graduates who are seeking to develop good work habits and employment skills in preparation for successful competition in the labor market and full-time employment. In addition, Summer Youth Employment Program. The Summer program is designed to provide first-time work experience opportunities to economically disadvantaged youth. Collaborates with OPWDD to offer a person-centered career planning and support service that will help individuals with developmental disabilities reach their employment goals. Engages individuals with identifying a career/vocational direction, provide instruction and training in pre-employment skills, and develop a path for achieving competitive, integrated employment.

Teens in the Teen Program are able to participate in a variety of local and national programs along with an assortment of activities and events offered and organized by local universities. We hope that by participating in various programs, our teens will discover their potential and possibilities for the future.
