A student-centered collegiate community that annually serves more than 4,300 students in the counties of Genesee, Livingston, Orleans and Wyoming with 75+ academic degrees, certificates and micro-credentials, and several campus locations in Western New York State. SUNY Genesee awards over 250 student scholarships annually and has an extensive Financial Aid program. GCC is committed to providing the educational experiences which promote intellectual and social growth, workforce and economic development and global citizenship.

Provides assistance to people interested in obtaining and maintaining employment in the community. Services include career counseling and guidance, job placement, job coaching, and supported employment.

In addition to helping adult students prepare for the TASC exam and earn their High School Equivalency Diploma, the Adult and Community Education Department offers Adult Basic Education classes for students to improve their reading, writing, and math skills. Students work at their own pace with the help of a certified teacher. Career Counseling and Case Management is available to all students and classes are open to individuals 17 years of age or older regardless of residency. English as an Alternate Language and Citizenship programming are also offered at the main building and at an addendum site in the morning and evening.

Career Coaches work with customers to create a pathway to success. Provides cost-free services to customers and businesses, including career coaching, linkages and job referrals to hiring employers, a well-equipped Resource Room and computer lab with high speed Internet access, individual and comprehensive assessments, career exploration, employment and job readiness workshops, resume preparation, job search planning, job interview preparation, Thursday networking job clubs, Individual Training Account (ITA) tuition grants for eligible customers, referrals to partner agencies, Adult Training Programs, Dislocated Worker Programs, and Trade Act Programs. Daycare and other support services may be available for qualifying individuals while they are in WIOA approved training.

The free TRIO EOC program sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education, hosted at SUNY Genesee Community College (GCC) provides free support to aid community members in applying to, funding and enrolling in further education. The purpose of the program is to help participants achieve their educational and career goals. Staff are knowledgeable and skilled in the fields of high school equivalencies, higher education applications and processes, state and federal financial aid, veteran and family-of-veteran education benefits, and scholarship opportunities available at the local, state, and national levels. Program offers individualized one-on-one appointments with highly-trained Outreach Specialists who can assist with: - College and trade school applications - Financial aid applications and scholarship searches - High school equivalency options - Career counseling and vocational training options - Educational opportunities for veterans - Financial literacy and planning Although hosted by SUNY GCC, the program does not recruit on behalf of the college, per grant requirement. Provides educational, recreational, and self-sufficiency programming for residents and the nearby community. Facility has a 226-seat theater, gymnasium, locker room, multi-purpose rooms, commercial kitchen, library, and computer training lab.
