The Workforce Partnership (TWP) is a consortium of local governments funded by the Federal Workforce Investment Act (WIA). TWP administers a variety of employment related services under the auspices of the Federal Workforce Investment Act. The Nassau Day Training Program provides both vocational and community integration services and serves as a job placement center for special needs populations in Nassau County. Our program provides outreach and/or mentorship to those with severe persistent mental illness and co- occurring disorders that may also include co-morbid health issues. The overall mission is to assist those in our program to enter the workplace as quickly as possible. We work with our program members to achieve increased community integration and independent functioning to prepare them for work. During the course of the program they may experience different levels of integration and independent functioning: developing work readiness, volunteer placement or actual competitive employment. In addition we offer Adult Career and Continuing Education Services Vocational Rehabilitation (ACCES-VR) sponsored services such as Diagnostic Vocational Evaluations, Supported Employment Services and Office Skills Training and Placement.

Following initial assessment, person may attend one or more group workshops dealing with employment transition; job-search tools; career assessment; goal-setting; resume/letter writing; interview techniques; networking; retraining; and on-the-job training. Personal computers, internet job search, and Workforce NY work stations also available to job-seekers.May also offer GED Classes once enrolled.

Assists people by helping remove barriers to employment with the end goal being self-sustainability. Through both a fixed and mobile community HUB, consumers can walk in and access needed services from community partners in one location, removing the barrier of time and transportation to and from various agencies. Specialists assist consumers with goal planning, resume building, job placements, interview preparation, skill building sessions, and a curriculum that leads to the ACT National Career Readiness Certificate - ACT WorkKeys NCRC.

The work readiness program through CORE pairs individuals with staff who can help strengthen their resume with vocational classes, certifications, career exploration, resume preparation, and mock interviews.
