The Vocational Centers offer job opportunities for individuals to develop and improve the skills necessary to meet their goals for employment. The Center focuses on soft skills development such as acceptance of supervision, following directions, attention to task, co-worker relationships, job completion and time management.

Offers a ten week summer course for college students in the field of journalism. A letter from the college they are attending is required along with students transcript. Employment Services model utilizes an employment developer to assist with job placement and a job-coach who provides support to the people in the form of job-site training, on-going assessment and follow-along for as long as necessary in order for the people to maintain employment.

Provides opportunities for regional businesses and government agencies, along with developing jobs for those with developmental disabilities. Services and training range from custodial, food service, retail, clerical support, manufacturing, assembly, packaging and distribution.

Offers summer employment opportunities for youth. They are able to work up to ten weeks throughout the summer, for 30 hours per week and earn minimum wage.

Training in practical skills for today's workforce providing support in finding hands-on career programs, training to build confidence and professionalism in interviews, resume writing, career coaching, apprenticeship and internships, and monthly classes for personal and professional growth.

New York State Commission for the Blind's (NYSCB) Business Enterprise Program (BEP) offers opportunities for individuals who are blind to gain the training and skills necessary to manage one of several vending facilities located in Federal and state office buildings throughout the state. After completing an intensive training program, BEP managers become proficient in all aspects of retail management including purchasing products, controlling inventory, marketing products, maintaining good customer relations, and keeping accurate records.

Provides skill building and credentialing in order to help participants (18-21 yrs) obtain diploma/certificates, get a job, and strengthen the local workforce.

Provides individualized employment and training services to help people with vocational barriers obtain and maintain a job in the community. Includes financial incentives and on-site training.

The Youth Services Program provides employment skills development which includes how to write a resume, prepare for an interview, time management and conflict resolution. This program also includes a job match service that provides information about jobs available in the local community and support services for the students and adults who care for (and about) them. This program is located at Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake and Scotia-Glenville High Schools and the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Community Human Services building.

* Provides a 5 week - 40 hour Security Workforce Development Program for individuals ages 18 and older with no felonies.* Upon completion of training participants will receive a certificate and a $600.00 stipend.

Offers middle school and high school students a fun and safe place to hangout after school. Youth get assistance with homework, are provided a healthy snack and evening meal, participate in unique learning activities, go on field trips, hear from dynamic speakers, and volunteer in the community.

Provides programs that include include open gym, Mechanicville After School Clubs, monthly dances, Summer Adventure Program, field trips, swim trips educational speakers, and workshops, and sports clinics as well as computer access.
