YOUTH CAREER CENTER | SUFFOLK COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF LABOR, LICENSING AND CONSUMER AFFAIRS

Provides employment related services to Suffolk County Youth. Offers youth career counseling, resume preparation, computer labs, job listings, vocational training, video library, phones/fax for job search and career exploration via Career Zone and Choices, as well as access to the Community Resource Database of Long Island. Offers the In-School Youth Experience Program; a federally funded, school-based program for economically disadvantaged and/or at risk youth age 14-21. In close cooperation with several Suffolk County school districts, the program promotes good work habits and workplace skills aimed toward a future of success in the workforce. Also offers the Out-of-School Youth Work Experience Program; a federally funded program for economically disadvantaged youth aged 16-24 who are high school dropouts wanting to complete their high school education or graduates who are seeking to develop good work habits and employment skills in preparation for successful competition in the labor market and full-time employment. In addition, Summer Youth Employment Program. The Summer program is designed to provide first-time work experience opportunities to economically disadvantaged youth.
