The Workforce Partnership (TWP) is a consortium of local governments funded by the Federal Workforce Investment Act (WIA). TWP is a component of a network of organizations that focus on both assisting employers in hiring qualified workers and helping job seekers to develop the skills and abilities necessary to secure gainful employment. TWP administers a variety of employment related services under the auspices of the Federal Workforce Investment Act. The Partnership represents the Town of Oyster Bay, Town of North Hempstead and the City of Glen Cove under the Act. If you are a Job Seeker, the Resource Areas at our two Career Centers are designed primarily to support you in your self-directed job search and specially designed staff are available to assist you. The Newburgh Free Library’s Job & Continuing Education Information resources at the library and on the web are available to help with your information needs. Offers comprehensive education and training to students entering the job market, seeking a new career or looking to upgrade their skills. The Employment Resource Center offers students the essential edge to successfully compete in today’s global workplace. Supports the continuing education of students interested in the field of Forensic Science. SCOME has opportunities that can allow interns to work side by side with Laboratory professionals (including forensic scientists specializing in drug chemistry, biological sciences [DNA Analysis], firearms examination, toxicology and trace evidence. The internship program can allow students to observe an autopsy examination, assist in the forensic laboratories and gain knowledge of forensic investigative techniques. Teaches job readiness, helps build skills, and enables youth to gain real work experience.

A collaborative partnership of public and private organizations dedicated to serving children at risk and their families. Main goals of this program includes readiness for school by six (6) years of age and continuing educational success. Program includes Pre-K Mentoring Project, Advantage Schools After-School Program, Juvenile Mentoring Program (JUMP), Conference Learning Center, Dual Language Parenting Skills Training, The Clothing Exchange and Building for Success Job Bank.

A non-profit agency which serves the economically disadvantaged, dislocated workers, displaced homemakers, and those with other barriers to employment with employment opportunities. Offerings include basic computer skills, resume writing, career pathways, career services, summer youth employment programs and veterans services among others. Resource rooms located at the Family Partnership Center and the Department of Labor for job search activities.
