Provides wide array of employment, training and evaluation services to individuals 21+ yrs including: vocational rehabilitation; sheltered employment and supported employment at Creekside Industries; community employment; and services to businesses.

Assist individuals to secure competitive employment in jobs best suited to their abilities and preferences. Affirmative Businesses, also known as social enterprises, are community-integrated businesses operated by RSS where client worker-trainees are matched closely with jobs according to their skills and preferences. They are paid at least minimum wage and receive considerable on-site support and accommodations. These positions can be either transitional or long-term.

Provides a sheltered workshop with a wide range of packaging, assembly and collation of large mailings to light manufacturing. Pine Ridge Industries also provides its participants with a range of community-based, group work opportunities. Participants receive supportive services necessary to maintain employment.

Personal growth and a sense of self-worth are achieved and enhanced. Adults with developmental disabilities may be able to earn income while working to achieve their maximum potential. A wide range of services and supports are offered including exploration of career interests, job readiness programs, and in some cases, a more directly supported work environment.

This program provides adults with developmental disabilities the training and skills to gain employment in the community. Services begin with an assessment of skills and abilities and includes pre-vocational preparation, job training, transition from school to work, job coaching, supported employment, counseling services and more.

Provides evaluation and training for disabled adults (ages 16+) in the areas of kitchen services, porter/maintenance services, assembly/packaging services, warehouse training and clerical training. Also offers vocational and placement counseling, remediation services, and alcohol and drug abuse counseling.

The Nassau Day Training Program provides both vocational and community integration services and serves as a job placement center for special needs populations in Nassau County. Our program provides outreach and/or mentorship to those with severe persistent mental illness and co- occurring disorders that may also include co-morbid health issues. The overall mission is to assist those in our program to enter the workplace as quickly as possible. We work with our program members to achieve increased community integration and independent functioning to prepare them for work. During the course of the program they may experience different levels of integration and independent functioning: developing work readiness, volunteer placement or actual competitive employment. In addition we offer Adult Career and Continuing Education Services Vocational Rehabilitation (ACCES-VR) sponsored services such as Diagnostic Vocational Evaluations, Supported Employment Services and Office Skills Training and Placement.

Work activities: bench assembly/packaging, porter maintenance, food service, printing, mail sorting and material movement. Clinical services include social work, psychology and nursing. Offers supported/ competitive job placements with long term support services. Program activities operate under the guidelines established by the New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities and the Department of Labor. Limited transportation provided for individuals. Program offered at 2 locations in Bohemia.
