OWS provides employment services which focuses on retired or active veterans returning from a combat zone. Helps them with the process of transitioning back into the work force. Assists veterans in securing gainful employment by providing professional development and job training support services and matching their skill sets and qualifications with potential employers. Walk-ins welcome. Assistance available in Spanish.

Provides a myriad of supportive services to very low-income Veteran families who are residing in permanent housing, are homeless and scheduled to become residents of permanent housing within a specified time period, or after exiting permanent housing, are seeking other housing that is responsive to such very low-income veteran family's needs and preferences. Support services include personal financial planning services, income support services, legal services, housing search and counseling, vocational and rehabilitation services through the New York State Department of Labor, employment training through the Suffolk County One-Stop Employment Center, outreach services, peer support, case management services, assistance obtaining VA benefits and other public benefits.

Offers comprehensive job search and career assistance services. Offers Priority of Service to veterans and their eligible spouses. This means that persons who served on Active Duty in the United States Armed Forces will:

• Be served first by the next available staff member
• Get first priority for jobs and training for which they are eligible and qualified
