Over 540 volunteers serve in over 65 volunteer sites throughout the county, with major focus areas including "Healthy Futures" (assisting individuals affected by Food Insecurity), Health Education, and Senior Companionship - Access to Care and Aging in Place.

Friendship Center volunteers, Home Delivered Meals drivers, Clerical Assistance, Picnic and Outdoor Event Help (spring, summer and fall), Health Insurance Counseling (HIICAP), Exercise Coaching, A Matter of Balance Leaders, Tai Chi leaders, Friendly Calls volunteers. Free training is provided as necessary. Many of the above volunteering options are suitable for students who need to fulfill school and/or house-of-worship community service requirements, particularly our OFA Picnics and other OFA events.

Rockland County Youth Employment Program, (YEP). This year-round youth workforce preparation initiative provides employment training and job placement for eligible young people between the ages of 14 and 21. The YEP builds partnership with local private businesses, not-for-profits and municipal agencies to promote youth workforce development within the county, as well as providing for a labor cost savings for all participating employers. The YEP, funded by Rockland County and the Department of Social Services through the Federal Summer Youth Employment Program funding consists of two components: T.E.E.N. Works (Teen Employment Education Network), a 13-week program, offered in the after school hours, provides workforce preparation training and experiential activities for teens and young adults between the ages of 14 and 21.

The main building at 2 Bank Street is still open but please call for more information. For in person help, please visit the satellite location at Genesee County Career Center, 587 East Main Street, Batavia. ****
Provides weekly programs at the Batavia Senior Center. Some of the programs offered are bridge, line dancing, cribbage, arthritis chair-based exercise, quilters, and painting classes. New groups are always being organized.
Special programs such as 55 Alive Driver Refresher Course, educational, health, and informational programs are also offered. Day trips to concerts, exhibits, musical productions, restaurants, and areas of special interest are also scheduled in the spring, summer, and fall.
Senior groups and clubs exist in most areas of the county which offer luncheons and pot luck dinners. Most groups offer programs of interest, entertainment, day trips, and other recreational activities.

Capacity Building: Members are a part of a volunteer program that provides community members with the opportunities to participate in community service and service learning opportunities.
Disaster Preparedness and Response: Members complete Community Emergency Response Training (CERT) through the Cattaraugus County Emergency Services and Cattaraugus County Health Department and provide preparedness training to the community.
