Update November 2025- The main UW 211 ALICE program is still out of funding, however we have received a small amount of funds for utility assistance only due to the delay in HEAP opening this year. We are able to provide assistance to ALICE eligible clients for one time NYSEG shut offs or propane/oil tank refills or wood/pellet deliveries. HEAP income guidelines apply for this specific assistance. Clients must still try other programs first before applying for ALICE. FRAUD INVESTIGATION UNIT | ONONDAGA COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES

Investigates all reported allegations of fraud in the Temporary Assistance, SNAP, Medicaid, HEAP, and Day Care programs. Also investigates day care providers being paid by Social Services who do not really provide care and cases involving food stamp trafficking. Does not investigate Social Security, Disability, Workman's Comp, Unemployment, or Section 8.

Child Care Assistance - ECDSS

Determines eligibility of families for day care subsidies, promotes quality day care in the community and offers technical assistance to providers in meeting New York State regulations. Child care assistance is authorized for eligible individuals through a variety of programs outlined below. Each program determines method of payment, required paperwork, and who to contact with questions and problems. Temporary Assistance Day Care: Available for TANF or Safety Net households involved in approved training programs or work site assignments. Program enables parents to work or participate in approved training programs while receiving child day care services. Transitional Day Care: Available when a Temporary (Public) Assistance case is closed and there is a need for day care services due to employment. Transitional day care is guaranteed for 12 months if working families earn less than or equal to a designated percentage of The State Income Standard (which is based on The Federal Poverty Level and subject to charge). Parents contribute to the cost of care based on a sliding income scale. Non-Temporary Assistance Day Care: Available to employed families who earn less than or equal to a designated percentage of the State Income Standard. Parents contribute toward the cost of care based on a sliding income scale. This assistance is also provided to teen parents attending high school and people working toward a GED who are under the age of 21. Preventive/Protective Services Day Care: Available to recipients of Children's Services when day care is mandated as part of the family's service plan.

DAYCARE | CLINTON COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES (DSS)

Clinton County provides services through the Child Care Development Block grant to working parents receiving financial assistance (TANF) or as a low income subsidy in an effort to assist them in becoming more self-sufficient. The family's eligibility for a child day care subsidy is based on their need and their household income. Child day care services are provided on either a formal or informal basis. Daycare is provided for children age 6 through 12 years. Under certain circumstances, care may be provided through 18 years of age, or if care is court ordered.

SSG Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program - VOSC

Provides outreach to Veterans identified as at risk of suicide, provides a baseline mental health assessment to potential participants in the program, and provides the following services for eligible participants: - Coordination of emergency treatment for participants, including coverage of any initial monetary charges for treatment, as long as the participant receives ongoing clinical services through the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) - Case management with a holistic, individualized approach - Peer support - Assistance in obtaining VA benefits, including but not limited to vocational and rehabilitation services, employment and training services, educational assistance, housing assistance, and health care (including mental health care) services - Assistance in obtaining and coordinating with other public benefits for crisis-related needs, including health care services, daily living services, legal services, personal financial planning, credit counseling, and employment and vocational services - Eligible temporary income support assistance - Transportation assistance in the form of public transportation tokens - Childcare payment assistance for children under the age of 13 - General suicide prevention stability assistance, which can assist participants with funds to cover anything that may be contributing to a suicidal factor specific to a participant - Other suicide prevention services that are necessary for improving mental health such as adaptive sports, equine therapy, indoor or outdoor recreational therapy, substance use reduction programming, and individual, group, or family counseling All financial assistance is provided directly to third parties for services to veterans, and funds do not go directly to veterans themselves. ##Veteran##
