Also investigates day care providers being paid by Social Services who do not really provide care and cases involving food stamp trafficking. Does not investigate Social Security, Disability, Workman's Comp, Unemployment, or Section 8.

Provides supportive services to very low income Veterans and their families who are homeless or are in danger of losing their homes. Services include outreach, case management, and assistance obtaining VA and other benefits. Provides time-limited payments to third parties, such as landlords, utility companies, moving and storage companies, and child care providers, if those payments can help Veteran families stay in or obtain permanent, sustainable housing.

UNITED WAY OF TOMPKINS COUNTY (UWTC) - 211 ALICE PROGRAM | UNITED WAY OF TOMPKINS COUNTY (UWTC)
Update November 2025- The main UW 211 ALICE program is still out of funding, however we have received a small amount of funds for utility assistance only due to the delay in HEAP opening this year. We are able to provide assistance to ALICE eligible clients for one time NYSEG shut offs or propane/oil tank refills or wood/pellet deliveries. HEAP income guidelines apply for this specific assistance. Clients must still try other programs first before applying for ALICE.
