Provides a six week program for mothers and their new babies. Discussions include adjustment to parenthood, time management skills, infant crying and soothing, sleeping and feeding schedules, developmental play and safety. Program booklet is available.

Offers parenting education to new expectant parents. Classes include education about pregnancy and parenting and life skills to help new parents through the pregnancy and to introduce them to parenthood. Participants earn points for each class or skill completed that can be used to purchase new or gently used items for the new baby.
Provides hands on learning experiences to parents and child in the home using a research-based curriculum called, Parents as Teachers. The program focuses on connecting child development with parenting behaviors to provide tools to raise a happy, healthy, confident child and to help prepare children for kindergarten. Meetings are once per week for 90 minutes, around the parent's schedule. Socialization opportunities are provided to the children and families twice per month.

Professional team provides community-based services to promote health and well-being and fun for expectant and existing families. Serves all Long Island residents. Affiliations include parent organizations, educational institutions, and health organizations. Program booklet is available.
Maternity Center provides prenatal programs, baby care and safety courses, intensive care for premature newborns and those with health problems, full range of prenatal testing, classes in childbirth, Lamaze and breast feeding. The Center has its own entry and parking lot. An orientation for expectant parents is held every Saturday at 9am; call for reservations as space is limited.

A Fulton County Public Health Nurse (PHN) will contact every new mother in the county to offer a home visit and to notify them of the services available for children and their families. The PHN will call you within a few days of your discharge from the hospital to ask how you and your baby are doing and answer any questions you may have. If you wish, she will come to your home to see you and your baby. She will bring information that covers many topics of baby and child care, will weigh your baby, and will demonstrate any baby care techniques you may not be sure of, like taking a temperature.
* Offers to match families with a peer volunteer who will offer emotional support, practical assistance, and share community resources during the baby's first year of life. Support varies and could include: Companionship. Light housework. Fixing a snack. Being there for the baby when a parent naps.
