ABLE is a an innovative educational program designed to provide authentic, hands-on learning opportunities. Aligned with NYS learning standards and curricula, ABLE provides exploratory extension opportunities beyond traditional classroom settings. ABLE utilizes WAP, which incorporates evidence-based practices to increase physical fitness, critical thinking, collaboration, problem solving, and leadership skills.

Provides free legal services and referrals to Latina women in abusive relationships. Also offers a workshop, the first for Latina women, Talleres de Liderazgo, that is a free five-week course, taught in Spanish only, on leadership and basic legal rights training. Topics include domestic violence, access to medical care and education, and legal rights as workers, parents and spouses. Legal services available to Suffolk County residents.

This program offers comprehensive training to help girls develop critical thinking skills that will enable them to become powerful leaders and effective advocates for change. Girls are introduced to community advocacy, racial justice and other issues affecting youth, while developing effective communication, critical thinking and problem solving skills.

Offers a program that is designed to provide HR practitioners with the necessary knowledge to make informed management and policy decisions. Certificate credits may also be used to fulfill requirements in either the Master of Science in Human Resource Management or Master of Arts in Liberal Studies program offered through the School of Professional Development, or the Master of Business Administration offered through the College of Business. (Be advised that not all courses count for both programs. Students should compare the degree and certificate requirements prior to enrolling.) Offers girls ages 5-17 years old and residing in Suffolk County the opportunity to participate in girl scout troops. Troop levels include Daisy Girl Scouts, Brownie Girl Scouts, Junior Girl Scouts, Cadette Girl Scouts, Senior Girl Scouts and Ambassador Girl Scouts. Troop programs are educational and recreational based activities.

A program which aims to encourage youth to engage in healthy behaviors early in life that reduce preventable chronic diseases, unwanted pregnancy and the incidence of sexually transmitted diseases. The youth participate in workshops and various activities, community service projects which help to build leadership skills and to help build up their community.

The youth councils are run by teenagers with the mission to empower teens to have an active voice for issues such as health care, mental health, youth programs, and social services, and to be part of the planning process. The councils develop and promote a countywide youth agenda and serve on community committees dealing with substance abuse, teen sexuality and youth violence. They receive training from professionals and participate in county and national conventions and conference.
Offers summit that provides training and information to high school students on becoming school and community leaders. Participants collectively identify the priority issues that are facing youth today, and discuss these in a small group forum with elected state and county leaders.
* Provides Recognition, assistance and incentives for college-bound high school students through the Black Scholars program.* Offers an afterschool and summer program that provides academic enrichment for middle school students through the Urban League Afterschool Academy.* Provides college access programs that meets afterschool and on Saturdays for high-achieving African American high school students through Project Ready.
