HOFSTRA UNIVERSITY GIRLS LACROSSE CAMP | HOFSTRA UNIVERSITY SUMMER CAMP

Offers a lacrosse camp where the goal is for every player to learn new skills and have fun playing the sport we all love. Instruction includes individual skills, strategies and game play. With a knowledgeable and experienced staff, we strive to educate each player and build on his or her strengths while addressing any weaknesses. The counselors demonstrate techniques and develop campers’ skills in a fun, positive environment, and they encourage players of all abilities to be successful at the next level. All players are divided by age and experience, and requests to be with friends will be honored. The day is divided into station/drill sessions, individual instruction, team practice, and tournament game play. Campers receive hands-on, individual attention in all areas of the game. Instruction includes, but is not limited to, catching, throwing, stick handling, dodging, draws, goal keeping, transition, groundballs, and defensive and offensive scenarios. Campers need to bring a lacrosse stick, goggles, and mouthguard. All goalies are responsible for bringing their own equipment. Each camper should wear daily: cotton T-shirt, athletic shorts, and sneakers or cleats. Campers must also bring a water bottle. Bathing suit and towel will be needed on assigned swim days. BASEBALL CAMP | LIU SCHOOL OF PROFESSIONAL STUDIES

Offers a camp for campers in grades 2-8. Come work on your game. Our coaches will help evaluate and development your skills in all aspects of the game including hitting, hitting for power, fielding, pitching, running the bases and game strategy. Participants will be split up by age groups with the older kids on our larger field with 90 foot bases and the younger kids on a smaller filed with adjustable base paths. Offers players in grades 3 to 9 (co-ed) of all abilities the unique opportunity to learn the game from experienced, enthusiastic and supportive golf instructors. Campers receive individual and group instruction that focuses on golf fundamentals and etiquette. Proper grip, posture, body alignment, putting, chipping and swing instruction are just a few facets of the game that will be touched upon by our instructors, as well as rules and “unwritten rules” of the game. Offers magic camp to campers in grades 3-9 (co-ed). Go behind the scenes into the secret world of magicians and learn from those who have dedicated their lives to honing this extraordinary craft. With a curriculum built for campers trying their hand at magic for the first time, to those with prior experience, our magic camp offers illusions for everyone. Our passionate instructors look to provide guidance and instruction on group and personal levels. Not only do we teach tricks and technique, but also aim to improve communications skills, helping to build self-esteem and confidence. The camp is extremely interactive and teaches magic through hands-on instruction and demonstrations. Instructors explore various magical genres throughout the week and also teach a bit about the history behind them; stage, parlor, street, close-up, slight-of hand - amongst others - and allow campers to be creative and explore which they feel most comfortable with. Along with “tricks of the trade” some highlights of the program are; card tricks, misdirection, coin magic, rope tricks, mind reading games, improv skills and performance tips. ADRIENNE CLARK SOFTBALL CAMP  | HOFSTRA UNIVERSITY SUMMER CAMP

Offers a camp that is geared toward campers entering grades 2-12. We are dedicated to providing intensive instruction that is essential to the development of the young softball player, whether at the beginner or advanced level. Campers will be grouped by grade and level of skill. Campers can expect a fun and competitive softball camp experience under the direction of world-class coaches and players. Several skill areas will be taught, including hitting, fielding, base-running and team play. Girls will be given the opportunity to play softball daily, gain self-confidence, work hard and make new friends. By the end of the session, players will have received valuable knowledge of the game of softball and will have thoroughly enjoyed themselves in the process. Each player should wear daily: cotton T-shirt, athletic shorts and sneakers/cleats. Each player must bring their own marked glove and water bottle. A helmet is recommended for softball.
