SOUTH SHORE NATURE CENTER | SOUTH SHORE NATURE CENTER

A 200 acre preserve which stretches to the shores of the Great South Bay. It contains mature upland forests, freshwater wetlands, vast salt marsh, and an extensive network of trails and boardwalk. It also houses a Visitor's Center which provides interactive exhibits and collections of both live animals and mounted wildlife specimens and dioramas. The Nature Center is operated by the Seatuck Environmental Association through a partnership with the Town of Islip, which owns the property together with Suffolk County and The Nature Conservancy.
