WILDWOOD STATE PARK | WILDWOOD STATE PARK

Offers 769 acres of hardwood forest on the Long Island Sound. Attractions include saltwater fishing, cross-country skiing, and trailer/tent sites for campers. Facilities include beach, picnic area, softball field, hiking trails (about 11.5 miles), volleyball court, 2 basketball courts, horseshoe pits and nature trails. Activities include Fall Festival and cross-country skiing. Empire passport accepted no pets allowed. Call for further information.

TACKAPAUSHA MUSEUM AND PRESERVE | TACKAPAUSHA MUSEUM AND PRESERVE

Offers an historic and beautiful 84-acre sanctuary of oak forests, ponds, streams, small mammals and scores of bird species, all of which can viewed via five miles of clearly marked trails. In addition, the preserve incorporates a 3,000-square-foot museum with displays about the ecology of Long Island, as well as animal exhibits and shows and interactive activities for children. RAIL TRAIL | WALKWAY OVER THE HUDSON

Provides a walkway from an old railroad bridge transformed into a park and walkway providing public access for pedestrians, hikers, joggers, bicyclists, and people with disabilities to the Hudson River's scenic landscape. The bridge serves as a connector to an extensive network of rail trails on both sides of the river.
