Preserves and exhibits local history and presents programs on the local history of Huntington. Offers educational programs for school age children at the Conklin and Kissam House Museums and a summer camp program. Offers tours, exhibitions, craft classes, genealogy workshops, seasonal festivals and special events.

Encourages genealogical research, collects and disseminates information on genealogical resources and techniques assists and educates its members and the general public in the how-to of finding one's roots promotes the preservation of, and access to, Italian records and resources. Also publishes a newsletter and maintains a database that contains articles to help members with their research.

Provides Reference, Information and Referral, Reader's Advisory, AARP driver safety courses, tax assistance, Recovery Incorporated, and a wide range of programs which may include arts/crafts, genealogy assistance, computer classes, and concerts.
