Support group for parents, family and friends of families who have experienced the death of a child.

Offers two different support groups for bereaved parents; one group for parents of an infant or child who died by accident or illness and the other group for parents of an infant who died by miscarriage, stillbirth, or newborn death.

Project HUGS (Help Understanding Grief Situations) will provide grieving children in local participating school districts with opportunities to express themselves; identify and share their feelings; develop positive coping skills, and better understand their loss situation as they take the necessary steps toward healing. Referrals to mental health agencies are made whenever such services are warranted.

Cortland Regional Medical Center and the American Cancer Society serve as co-sponsors for the monthly support group meetings. Each meeting features a speaker on an important topic in the field of cancer or a topic of interest to families.
