MEALS ON WHEELS - BCOFA | BROOME COUNTY OFFICE FOR AGING

Meals are delivered Monday through Friday by volunteers who check on participants each day. Meals on Wheels volunteers are needed to deliver meals once a week, Monday - Friday, between 11am and 1pm. You can sign up to be a driver, visitor, or both. Routes are available in various locations throughout Broome County including Binghamton, Chenango Bridge, Conklin/Kirkwood, Harpursville and Whitney Point. Volunteer drivers receive a mileage reimbursement.NOTE: (For service to Endicott, Johnson City, Town of Union, Vestal, and Maine, see Meals on Wheels of Western Broome.)

AARP VOLUNTEER INCOME TAX ASSISTANCE COUNSELORS | AARP FOUNDATION INCOME TAX COUNSELING

Counselors taught income tax preparation and computer operation by IRS-trained AARP Tax-Aide volunteer instructors. Commitment runs from Feb 1st to April 13th. Volunteers with knowledge of computers and 1040 Tax Forms do both federal and state income taxes. Classes for volunteers begin on Jan 3rd.

CORNELL UNIVERSITY (CU) - PUBLIC SERVICE CENTER: TRANSLATOR/INTERPRETER PROGRAM (TIP) | CORNELL UNIVERSITY (CU)

Recruits volunteers from the Ithaca and Cornell communities to translate and interpret in emergency and non-emergency situations. Individuals proficient in English and a another language are certified by TIP to serve translators/interpreters for community agencies. Certification includes: passing certification test by a language professor attending mandatory workshop about potential emergency and cultural situations signing a confidentiality agreement protecting the privacy of client and agreeing to have their information available on the TIP website for agency useOrganizations signing an agreement with TIP can seek translators through the online database. In emergencies, the Public Service Center can be contacted for assistance during business hours.

Parenting Skills Facilitated Visits: pairs parenting educator with parent(s) and children working with the Tompkins County Department of Social Services' Children's Services Unit. Parenting Educator Facilitator Trainings: annual session for those using the curricula to increase quality parenting education in our community. Tompkins County Coalition for Families: ad hoc group of organizations and citizens creating a supportive community for children and families. Tompkins Families! PRO BONO APPEALS PROGRAM | LEGAL PROJECT

Provides legal services through the Committee on Courts of Appellate Jurisdiction of the New York State Bar Association in appeals in the Appellate Division, Third Department through the pro bono attorneys. Appeals Program representation will be limited to family and matrimonial law issues, including family offenses, custody and visitation, divorce, paternity, and termination of parental rights. Not included are appeals addressing only the amount of child support awarded under the Child Support Standards Act.
