Volunteers are asked to make a commitment of 50 hours over a period of three months, whether as a learning opportunity for students or merely as a way of giving back to one's community. Clinical assignments in our residential and community-based programs may include participation in our recreational program, agency-sponsored events and leisure and relaxation therapy. Volunteers also provide one-to-one attention to our program participants, such as reading a book, taking a person for a walk, or simply serving as a "big brother or big sister." A volunteer is selected on the basis of individual interest, skill, and experience.

Volunteers are welcome on a regular schedule or whenever available even if only for a few hours. Help is needed to clean and feed the cats from 9:15 a.m. to noon, prior to the opening to the public. Socialization of the cats happens beginning at noon.
