Offer a low-cost, friendly introduction to using computers. The basic curriculum is comprised of courses on introduction to computers, word processing, spreadsheets and going online and using the Internet. More advanced courses include topics such as genealogy, graphics, personal financial management and tax preparation with a computer. Most Centers offer open lab time where students can use computers to practice their skills or to work on individual projects.

Literacy Volunteers provides free, confidential, one-to-one tutoring for adults who wish to improve their reading, writing, math, computer, and/or English Language skills. Tutoring is offered at times and locations convenient for the learner. Remote/online options for distance tutoring are available.

Volunteers help with shelving books and clerical work. Youth volunteers interviewed in May/June for Summer Reading Program that starts in July.

**DUE TO COVID-19, PROGRAM IS CURRENTLY ON HOLD - TENTATIVELY UNTIL SEPTEMBER 2021 ** Thomas Sports Group needs volunteers for tutoring and education, to assist youth with job training, including computer training, as mentors, to coach youth in organized sports teams, as chaperones, and those who are willing to transport youth to and from organized sports events and other activities.

Operates an intensive summer program for low income and at-risk youth. Educates High School students on Microsoft Office, including writing resume and preparing spreadsheets, designing and presenting powerpoint presentations, collaboration between program participants in website design and coding. Provides students with a laptop at the end of the program. Accepts donations of computers, Pentium IV or better, are accepted.

Volunteer mentor and/or tutor children and adolescents who live either in therapeutic foster care homes or in group home environments. Volunteer is individually matched with a child. Volunteers must pass New York State Child Abuse Central Registry clearance, a criminal records check by fingerprint and a DMV license check as well as provide professional and personal references.
