Trains and supports community volunteers to educate and energize residents about composting's benefits and methods to divert materials from the waste stream and maximize waste reduction.

Volunteers trained to educate the public about and instill enthusiasm for composting through: workshops providing fact sheets and bulletins, plus information at community events offering information on building composting bins, troubleshooting and technical assistanceMaster Composter training is offered from mid-February through early-May every year.. Trained volunteers go on to work in various ways throughout the year. Many volunteers choose to remain active and volunteer years after they have trained.
