Offers a free telephone reassurance program for isolated or homebound seniors. The program provides human contact with a daily reassurance call, letting clients know that someone is there for them. Most of the volunteer callers are senior citizens themselves.
Helpline volunteers reach out to homebound seniors with a friendly voice - asking how you're doing, answering questions, providing information about Town or County services or just lending an ear-from one person to another. Calls are made Monday through Friday excluding holidays. To sign up for this program or to volunteer your time, please call the Town of Brookhaven Senior Citizen Division at 451-9191.
